If you like Burt's Bees.......right now they have a mystery grab bag for $25 shipped. You must use code JUNE11 to get it for this price. It has 13 products. 4 full size products plus a full size bottle of their fabulous milk and honey lotion. This retails for $10 by itself. I just bought one for myself but with all the stuff inside it would make a great Christmas gift or even broken into stocking stuffers. :shop:

It is amazing how much better going on appointments to clients homes can be when you are listening to Christmas music in your car on the way to appointments. :smilecc:

Had a beautiful day today riding around the Swedish countryside listening to Christmas music on the radio and having a picnic with my beautiful husband. We went to see the cottage his parents rented for over 20 years and where his fondest Christmas memories were made. We usually only celebrate for one week in July but started early this year because of vacation, I am thinking of making it a month-long celebration next year and maybe even putting up the tree with red, white, and blue decorations. We can have a swedish tree for Christmas and an American one for Christmas in July! :treeswave: :snowtree: :penny:

Christmas in July always gets me thinking about Advent/Christmas in December. My last year in the US, my church used an advent devotion called The Colors of Advent instead of the usual 3 purple, 1 pink, 1 white formula. I have tried in vain to research this on the net to no avail. The only thing I remember clearly is that we ended with the Center candle being Red for Christ's blood. Does this sound familiar to anyone? I would really appreciate if someone could direct me to an internet source to find it. I would like to use this in our home advent devotions this year. Swedes light candles for advent (4 candles in a rectangular formation) but have lost all meaning or ceremony for it. :candle2: :welcome: :snowhouse:

Well, we have had an interesting development here. I belong to the online Tomteland Facebook group. Tomteland is a type of Christmas/fairytale theme park here in Sweden. Last night, late, there was a post that they are looking for a new general manager. I told my husband that together we could do the job very well. He has the leadership skills, building managment etc that they are looking for and I have the administrative and economic skills. Together we would make a great team and we would love to have a job we could do together. So, rather than applying through regular channels we are going to send a special letter with both our resumes to the person listed as a contact. We will emphasize that since we want to share the job, we are willing to share the salary and ask for a reasonable amount. Talk about a Christmas dream come true.........If nothing else, we will give them a good laugh and maybe even be invited for an interview. With the group leaders permission, we will also mention membership in this online group as well as our love for all things Christmas all year round.

Merry Christmas in July!

Busy Saturday for me. I'm cleaning house this morning then we are all headed to a birthday party. I love birthdays (almost as much as I love Christmas)!

My life is already a fairytale, having a second chance at love and marraige, living in Sweden, I did not think it could get any better.

Above all, praying God´s will to be done. If we can bless others in this job, that is a bonus!

What a beautiful sentiment - I agree Gods will brings huge blessings to all! And your life is a testimony.......a Christmas/Easter testimony all year long. :flake:

Byron and I went to the Hallmark ornament premier this weekend. We had a really nice time. It was really nice to browse the Christmas ornaments. :)

I worked for Hallmark for 6 years in a mall shop. I really enjoyed it and miss the ornament premier. We have Hallmark cards but the other merchandise has not made it to Sweden. If we do get the job at Tomteland, I will try to put up a tree in the office with my Hallmark ornaments on it. Here, we only have room for a small "swedish" tree. :snowtree: :snowhouse: :snowkiss:

I keep forgetting to mention I have been listening to an audiobook called The Santa Cruise by Carol Higgins Clark and Mary Higgins Clark. I was skeptical as the book did not get very good reviews, but if you like light mysteries (no one gets killed) and pure Christmas fun it is great! I plan on ordering the book and a couple of other Christmas novels when we get back from vacation.

And, here is a youtube video of a Christmas drive thru in TExas that came up on my research into Christmas theme parks. I wish I had known it was there when I lived in Texas.....I told my husband, if we get the job, we might have to travel in the off season to check out the competition. Just some wishful Christmas thinking!

Sorry I haven't been posting in the last couple of days. I was at a summer retreat, and there was no computers at the cabin I was staying at. But I do have Christmas-related news. On my long drive to the cabin, I caught a glimpse of the Christmas wonderland store that I will be going to in a couple of days. All I could see was a huge white building and a giant Santa Claus, so I'm dying with anticipation. Also, there was a Christian gift shop with a Christmas aisle. I almost bought a beautiful figurine of an old fashioned Santa Claus holding baby Jesus, but it cost too much :( However, I semi-made up for it when I bought really cheap Halloween snow globes at a dollar store.
