Well, I had a good laugh at myself this morning at 5am. Just home from work, rushed to the mailbox to see if any Christmas purchases from QVC had arrived! Then my sweet DH reminded me it takes more than 4 days to arrive! I don't know why but receiving packages feels like Christmas to me everyday!

What a week, starts off on Monday going into work to find out that I am being let go, spend the next few days looking for another job, get a phone call today from the district manager at my job I lost on Monday and after seeing and hearing what had been going on, that he could tell that my inability to do my job was do to my immediate managers way of doing things and my way did not go together, so I am rehired and being moved to another local office. Christmas miracles. :smilecc:

Back from very hot northern Sweden. NO Christmas weather there. We brought home a kitten so I had to take down the Christmas in July garland before she started using it for Tarzan vines. I did not want her to remember doing that when I try to put it back out for Christmas in December. :smilecc:

We cooked American thanksgiving on Monday and an American Style Christmas ham last night with brown sugar/cranberry glaze with sweet potato salad. Both were great hits!

Now, I am catching up on email and online activity. Look forward to hearing abourt everyone's Christmas in July dinner. We usually do something "hawaiian", we shall see how motivated I feel tomorrow. I am thinnking pork chops with peach "salsa" and store bought fruit salad.

Merry Christmas in July!

hm...I guess you would call it a swedish long hair (no breed in particular) but cute. She is brown and beige. Half her mouth is brown, the other half beige and she has one beige paw. Mom was gray and white, "daddy was a traveling man" as they say. Mom had one mostly white calico, the brown one, a tuxedo cat, and a white with gray spots.
we named her Zoe (our other cat is Zelma). I also got another Christmas in July present today. Some earrings I had ordered from ebay before we left. :-)

Found a recipe called Waikiki pork chops I am thinking of making for tomorrow´s Christmas in July dinner. Along with Mimosa Salad (a store bought swedish fruit salad) and either cold green bean salad or hot green beans and mushrooms. I read online that Hawaiians roast a whole pig, so I am going with pork, and it is too hot to really be ambitious. I have to find a swedish source for party/patio lights. I did not bring mine because the electricity here runs on a different current.

Do those of you who celebrate Christmas in July do anything different or do you just do a December Christmas all over again? I would love to know. :dinner:

Oh, Zoe sounds adorable! Post a picture, please, when you have time.

We have a Christmas in July thread under holidays where members have shared their traditions. Most of us don't decorate/bake as elaborately as we do for 12/25~! :scene:

[color=#FF0000]Well, I have good news. I have just made plans to go to ANOTHER Christmas shop in September for my birthday. I'm hoping to add to my Santa Claus figurine collection and buy some more ornaments. I hope everyone is having a pleasant Christmas in July :flake:

So ready for some cool Fall weather. July was absolutely miserable. So HOT and DRY. And this coming week is going to be the worst week of heat yet. Feeding hay in July is never, ever a good sign. Looking forward to some nice Christmas snow. :pile: :snovel:

Dd is going to preschool. Yay! Just a couple of days a week to help her get ready for kindergarten. We have been hitting the back to school sales. We have found some awesome deals on school supplies for our Operation Christmas Child boxes. :opengifts:

Still having issues on my career front, but luckily I have a district manager that for some reason does not want to get rid of me, he is doing everything in his power to get me jumpstarted with my career so I can be successful. Other than that, getting my fall first chance at fall cleaning done, getting ready to set out fall decor, we usually do this at the beginning of August due to the kids starting school which has us in a fall state of mind, then (as most of you know on here) it will be time to celebrate 100 days til Christmas with my traditional putting up the tree day. Can't wait for it. :smilecc:

ksrjreed , congrats! on the job front. In this economy that means you are a stellar producer and of much value to your employer.

I remember decorating for Autumn in August where I grew up in the midwest. Here we're just hitting 110+F temperatures...........I seldom decorate until November. By then its usually under 100F so I just pretend the autumn leaves are falling.

Then its time to decorate for Christmas! :peekleaves2:

Yesterday UPS delivered the packages I ordered from QVC's Christmas in July. The bill came too..........OOPS! I forgot I had some easy pays so I way overspent.

Still the Slatkin candles are gorgeous [some are gifts], the poinsettia bush on sale is great, and the kids gifts are fine. I just have to draw the line on spending now for a few months! :peekleaves2:

Today is supposed to be 96 here (and TERRIBLY humid as usual)...ugh...so I changed my wallpaper on my monitor at work here to a beautiful pumpkin photo that just helps me to look forward to the eventual cooldown of Autumn...I can't wait. Yesterday my DH (God love him!) started my Christmas cleanup for me! He took the day off yesterday and kept the kids home with him. When I got home, lo and behold, I walked into my dining room (the entry room to my house) and the floors were sparkling clean! DH and DD scrubbed the laminate wood floor in there BY HAND! Right then and there I was ready to start scrubbing down every surface in preparation for the holidays! Unfortunately I had to take DD to get her camp physical and then go to a birthday party, so I didn't get to start my cleaning yet...but tonight...look out dirt and grime! lol So excited for Christmas this year (and every year! lol) Cheers!
