Having a pretty good day so far, feeling sore from yesterday. Was cutting grass and ran upon an underground yellow jacket nest and they were not happy to see me. I think I was stung eight or nine times and I am feeling it still today. Will be spending all of today in the house trying to recover and watching some Chrismtas movies and getting things done in the house. :smilecc:

I am especially excited for this Christmas season! Last year our annual Christmas tree hunt had to be cancelled due to freezing rain. We purchased one from a lot but it just wasn't the same. Then from the 22nd till New Years, everyone in our family including my Sister and BIL came down with the flu and or bronchitis.
I was the only lucky one to spend our Christmas holidays healthy.
So this year it will be like two Christmases in one. I can hardly wait!! :scene:

That many stings can cause an allergic reation, ksrjreed, so I'm happy to read you are feeling much better!

And a good Christmas movie heals just about all of us!

I know all about this, two years ago everyone in the house came down with the stomache flu starting on the 21st of dec all the way down to my youngest who started getting sick on Chrismtas Eve night. I was lucky enough to not get sick until a few days before New Years Eve that year, so I hope you have a better Christmas this year and that sending prayers that everyone stays healthy for you. :smilecc:

After investigating the Irish health system, we have decided to decline the offer, I think. We are still awaiting the contract to see what the final offer actually was. But, as we both have ongoing health concerns, moving to a health system rated lower than the swedish does not sound wise. If we were young and healthy, it would be another matter. So, we are pursuing our letter and resumes to Tomteland even though they did not respond to our initial inquiry. Who knows, it could be a Christmas miracle!

Also been listening to Christmas OTR (Old Time Radio) today. If you enjoy OTR, check out http://www.otrcat.com. They have some great Christmas collections and their prices are quite reasonable if you live in the US! Some things you can even listen to online.

Happy Christmas in August! :scene: :snowwow:

I will admit, my arm still hurts and I am occaisonally getting sharp pains in my arm that feel like stings, have some swelling in my arm and my son when to marching band practice today with a swollen ankle from stings. I have been given a lot of ideas on how to get rid of them and will be trying to take care of this problem.

My first Christmas in Sweden my husband came down with the "winter vomiting disease", yes that is the literal swedish translation and it is what it says it is. We had been to a wonderful Lebanese Christmas buffet on the 22nd and that did him in. He was sick from the 22-26 not knowing what day it was. I sat on the couch on Christmas eve watching midnight mass and cried my eyes out. I did not know anyone in Sweden. It was the Christmas we would both rather forget. We had "christmas ramen" for christmas dinner. LOL

I do not know anything about bee stings, but it sounds like you might want to check with your dr or local clinic for an antihistimine? or maybe benadryl? :angelpray:

Christmas hugs to you!

ksrjreed I hope your stings are mending well and that the pain is gone. How horrible those yellow jackets are!
It seems that many people have had one Christmas that was full of sickness. Maybe it is because of the time of year, the height of flu/cold season. It's bound to happen occasionally I suppose. I am wishing for everyone a healthy Christmas season! That is the only gift I want this year!

jwlundgren what is Christmas ramen? Poor you what a way to spend your first Christmas in a new country! Thanks for the link to OTR!

Whats funny is my allergies started acting up yesterday and I took an allergy pill and my arm did start feeling better. I hadn't put it together until reading this, once again my love for Christmas helps me out again. :smilecc:

Temps are a lot cooler today than they have been, so I have my windows open and airing out my house, well that is until the temps go up. Getting yard ready to put out the outdoor fall decor next week, which gets me excited and thinking of my Christmas lights that I can't wait to put up outside. :smilecc:
