I decided after a year that it was time. It would have been even more perfect had we landed the job at Tomteland.
Thinking of watching Christmas in the Clouds today, a movie about a native american resort trying to save itself from bankruptcy. Grahame Greene stars as a vegetarian native american chef, great comic relief. A nice Christmas treat in the August heat!
M. Emmet Walsh is his usual self, also a great character.
Happy Christmas in August!

I woke up at 5:30 am to the sound of my annoying little dog barking at me. It probably wouldn't have been so bad if she knew how to bark Christmas carols like those dogs on TV.

Does anyone put one up?

Here is what I found on a quick search. Seems I have also seen them in German/Scandinavian tradition mostly as a space saving device as european apartments are very small. Before I left the US, I had seen "half trees" that can be hung on a wall. That would have been perfect for us. We finally got a tall skinny tree for the apartment last year. It is not my all time favorite, but it does fit our living space. Meanwhile, all my beautiful hallmark ornaments languish in the basement.
Hubby has a test shoot today for a food company commercial, if he gets it, he will fly to India for shooting and earn 5000 SEK! (about 800$), now that would be a nice early Christmas bonus!

That's hilarious CK! There are dogs that can bark Jingle Bells!

Actually, he had the salary wrong. It is 35,000 SEK! But they had at least 10 candidates. So, we shall see. That would cover our basic expenses for a little over 2 months. Of course, hubby said he wants a flat screen tv out of it as an eraly Christmas present.

I didn't watch this yesterday but I have seen it before. I thought it was really neat. I love when regular shows have Christmas themed episodes.
