I assume you live in the Southern hemisphere (and if it's winter in the Northern Hemisphere, it's summer in the Southern hemisphere).

We are lucky that my sister and bil live in TO and it is only a 10 minute drive from their place to where the parade starts. We still have to be at our spot on the parade route 3 hours ahead of time so we can have a curb side seat though. But is is well worth the wait!
