Tonight, as my wife and I were making muffins for Sunday School, my 15yr old daughter came walking thru the house singing "It's the most wonderful time of the year..."
:singing:
She loves Christmas all year just like her daddy.

Jim Carrey is great as The Grinch!

Kitchen Rennovation mostly done. Computer up and running. Anders even gave me a "Christmas countdown" on the desk top. He said he can also install a random pop up that is a dancing Christmas tree. He is cute.

Now, if the cats would just stop fighting, my day would be Christmas perfect! :sleephat: :snowman1: :santa:

We had a fire, roasting marshmallows and making s'mores last night. Then we came in and decided to watch another Christmas movie on our last night at the trailer. We watched Elf. :elf: Today is pack up and head home day. Holidays over!

Sounds like a GREAT time! I have been tempted to rent a camp site at a local camp ground (within walking distance) just so hubby can have the quintessential "american" camping experience of smores (no graham crackers here, so I need to find a substitute) and roasted marshmallows. A great ending to your Christmas fun! :gbhouse:

You should go for it! Try oatmeal cookies, even chocolate chip cookies would work. Never too much chocolate in a s'more.
We bought an old trailer(c.1970's) with an add-a-room,in a seasonal trailer park early this summer. It was VERY cheap! We wanted to get a place for the kids, but cottages were way, way, way out of our price range, even a lot of trailers were just to expensive. My hubby got a bonus and we decided to buy this as an early Christmas gift to the family! :scene:

Mistletoe misfit,

sounds like great fun! I would love that. Here restored VW vans are making a comeback, the first ones used as campers. It is hilarious to see them on the road though we wonder where on earth people are finding them. Sounds like great Christmas fun! Just out of curiosity, what is considered "seasonal"?

Well I think we've got the kids all their back to school items, including clothes. I'm pretty sure my oldest will need some more pants, but she really wanted to have 3 pairs of shoes (one specifically for gym class - which we bought, the others as normal wear). This year hubby and I decided to increase their allowance and let them choose how to spend it (with in reason). There are certain things we'll still buy for them, like socks, underwear, gym shoes, school supplies. We'll see how it goes and let you know. I'm hoping they might consider buying their Christmas presents out of it, but we haven't talked about it, so it might not happen till next Christmas.

When do the kids go back to school for you guys? Up north here we're always the first Tuesday after Labour Day, so this year it's September 6th.

That's funny because I occasionally still see the VW camper vans here as well.

Seasonal parks are only open part of the year. It depends on the individual park when they open. Some open May 24th weekend and close the beginning of October. Some such as our park Open May 1st and close Thanksgiving weekend(around the middle of October). We have the option of paying an extra fee and using it in the winter. But this would require we have a generator and a woodstove. Plus no running water is available then,so we aren't planning on using it during the winter months. Our family has really enjoyed the trailer. They have a pool,a store, long weekends there are potlucks and dances.Every Saturday they have Horseshoes, sometimes ladder ball and Bingo in the evening. I am hoping once we have been there a couple of years, I can maybe talk to the rec. committee about having Christmas in July. Don't wish to scare everyone off right away.

Oh, Mrs.Claus you are so organized. :smilecc: I wish I was all ready. I have back packs and lunch boxes bought, that's it! I am such a procrastinator! I think Christmas is the only time of year I am not.

What a great idea for a getaway spot, Mistletoe Misfit! I mentioned it to hubby.
We would love to have a weekend cottage, but as you pointed out, it is often tough to swing financially. An older refurbished trailer is a great idea and possibly affordable once we both have jobs. thanks for the tip! Christmas in July at campgrounds is quite common from what I read on the web. They might love the idea especially if it comes with a volunteer coordinator. :gbhouse:

I have a few Christmas episodes of some of my favorite shows recorded on my DVR. I have some from Everybody Loves Raymond, Roseanne, Family Matters, Wonder Years, and King of Queens. I like to watch them every now & then.
Christmas is the most magical time of the year.

I have tons of Christmas episodes recorded on our DVR. It's just so convenient when I want to watch something Christmasy! :lights:

I can't believe it's almost September already. I have been hearing lots of people talking about early Christmas shopping this year. :shop:

That's my favorite Christmas song to start off the holiday season every Turkey Day! So glad Daddy's little girl has a heart full of Christmas too! :D
