How do you clean up after a dust storm? Or do you? I've never seen one.

3:02 pm here in Dallas and it's 104 degrees.it's been in the 80's in the early hours of 5and 6am.yet this winter,we'll probably see temperatures in the teens or lower.many other other places have it alot worse though.can't complain.
>>>>>>> i found it in the last place that i looked,as they say.
what's weird is that i found it in the next place i looked also.
so now i have two of them and i only need one!!

Noel--I just read your post about having a dust storm. Yet another way that Mother Nature can make our lives miserable. I have been reading 'The Worst Hard Time' by Timothy Egan. It is a wonderful book about the lives of the people who lived through the Dust Bowl and Great Depression. Funny how so much of that time parallels today.
We had another hot day in the 90's but I'm not complaining. After the 110 degree plus days we had this summer, this is not bad at all. 8-)

CandyKane, I'm adding The Worst Hard Time' by Timothy Egan to my booklist. It sounds like a great read - thanks for sharing that with me!

I look at the floods in the East, and am heartbroken for them all!

115F today.......... :sleephat:

As for this, no crunchy leaves yet, and our nearest apple orchard closed down...
But last night, it was in the lower 60's/upper 50's, we had an evening bonfire, and my cinnamon candles were lit inside, so that made for quite a nice evening with the DH and kids! :peekleaves2: Cheers!

Thanks so much for the prayers. The whole southwest has fires going but the temperatures have lowered somewhat [answered prayers!] and that is helping the firefighters gain control more.

It's under 100F here today - hurrah!!! :peekleaves2:

WoW! The winds that have been blowing here the past few hours are bringing in much cooler temps. They are calling for "MIXED" precipitation for overnight. I won't be able to sleep tonight, I will be up checking to see if I can spot a few snow flakes. LOL :flake:

Unseasonably warm days the last week and a half. Sunday it was almost 80 and my kids were swimming in Lake Ontario. It's a little cooler today hovering around 70,still very strange for October. I imagine one day soon we will get a blast of cold and wont know what hit us. LOL
