Christmas would have been cancelled one year if there was no Rudolph.
You can't have Christmas (the holiday) without Rudolph.
At least not since 1964. Just sayin.

Rudolph is my all time favourite animated Christmas movie. Closely followed by A Charlie Brown Christmas, The Little Drummer Boy and Frosty. :scene:

With TV being the main form of entertainment for almost all my life, and all the shows you listed coming out around the time I was born, they have become synonymous with Christmas for me. Christmas just wouldn't be the same without them.
It truly is "The most wonderful time of the year".

I got an Ipod for Christmas and am just now setting it up. Does anyone have any free christmas apps they can recommend? I am only doing free stuff right now. Speaking of which, check out the free 9/11 apps on ITunes. I highly recommend them.

:snowkiss: :snowball: :pole: :angelpray: Just got word that Anders is wanted for an interview in Sollefteå, in northern Sweden. We have said we would like to move north to be closer to family, but saying it and following through are two different things. I find both excitement and apprehension in the prospect. I have both goose bumps and butterflies suddenly in my stomach. Please pray for us during this time. My interview in Stockholm is on Sept 19 but that is only a half time job, not one worth making life decisions over. The one in Sollefteå is in national security in internet safety and decryption, a job Anders was made for. What an emotional rollercoaster. Please pray for a place for him to stay if he goes for the interview. We cannot afford much.

Thank you to all of our Christmas friends for your support during this emotional time.

We went shopping in Sam's Club today and we were surprised to see some Christmas ornaments out! We weren't even looking for Christmas, so it was a nice surprise. :shop:

The house featured in the Christmas movie "Home Alone" is up for sale. It can be yours for a paltry $1,950,000!!! Take a look at the pictures HERE to see what the inside looks like now. It's much more modern on the inside now, but it's beautiful.

Here's another Home Alone related tid-bit. Ever wanted to slide down the stairs on a sleigh like Kevin? Well these people did it and posted a video of it. Here is a LINK.

I stopped by the grocery store today and noticed where they have some large outdoor Christmas decorations. :penny:

My daughter and I watch Disney's A Christmas Carol tonight.
It was OK. I like the 1938 version with Gene Lockhart the best.

Got word today that Anders first interview will be on Sept 27 here in Stockholm. Then, if there is a second interview, we will go visit the area. We were amazed to see how low real estate prices are there. One can buy a farm or villa for the same price as a downpayment would cost in Stockholm. As there are zero job opportunities for me, we might actually consider opening up a bed and breakfast at some point in the future. CAY friends stay free. :P :dinner:

Lots of Christmas weather up there. :snowwow:

A bed and breakfast is a wonderful dream. I really hope it comes true for you. You could even make a Christmas themed room. :smilecc:

Our dollar store has 3 aisles of Halloween and Fall decor and a half an aisle of Christmas stuff. :scene:

Yes we thought of that. A 2-3 suite b/b is just enough for one person to handle as Anders will have his own fulltime job and only help out part time. I have thought of a Texas room, a Christmas room, working on the third, maybe a medieval room. One thing at time. We found a 12 room facility that was a former school, a 5 apartment building that probably needs work, and another old "priest house" with 10 rooms. But the first step is to get a job. :D

Dd just saw a commercial for Wugglepets and says that she's going to ask HoHo to bring them for her for Christmas. :santagifts: But she did tell me it would be fine if I just want to buy them for her now. :D

That is too funny!! I love kids.

I was just telling my husband the other day that we should start seeing more toy commercials soon as people start thinking about Christmas.

hm...had not thought of that.

I got it! My B/B can be "Holiday Inn" with a christmas room, thanksgiving room, and either 4th of July or easter room.

I have an interview with a recruiting firm on Friday and one at the univ. Hubby has an interview on Sept 27 for the job in northern sweden. Things are hopping!

Here's hoping Christmas is early this year!
