I have only 1 more week to buy for our Christmas Child boxes. Our church packing party will be next Saturday night. I am so excited about it. :snowjump:

Today we watched Hallmark's Christmas flicks all day!

The spraying for termites is finished - then it rained - so it will all have to be done again next week. Oye! :holly1:

I dropped dd off at school then went shopping for some more items for the Christmas Child boxes. I stopped by the church and dropped them off and looked through the things we have so far. I'm pretty sure that if we packed today we would be able to fill 50 boxes. God has truly blessed our little country church. :scene:

While I was shopping I picked up another roll of Christmas wrap. I promised myself I wouldn't buy any since I have so much to use up. But it is so beautiful. Blue foil with birds all over it. The standouts are the beautiful red cardinals. So after this I will not buy anymore. Promise.

It's the most wonderful time of the year
With the kids jingle belling
And everyone telling you "Be of good cheer"
It's the most wonderful time of the year
It's the hap-happiest season of all
With those holiday greetings and gay happy meetings
When friends come to call
It's the hap- happiest season of all

There'll be parties for hosting
Marshmallows for toasting
And caroling out in the snow
There'll be scary ghost stories
And tales of the glories of
Christmases long, long ago

It's the most wonderful time of the year
There'll be much mistltoeing
And hearts will be glowing
When love ones are near
It's the most wonderful time of the year

There'll be parties for hosting
Marshmallows for toasting
And caroling out in the snow
There'll be scary ghost stories
And tales of the glories of
Christmases long, long ago

It's the most wonderful time of the year
There'll be much mistltoeing
And hearts will be glowing
When love ones are near
It's the most wonderful time
It's the most wonderful time
It's the most wonderful time
It's the most wonderful time of the year

Heard this song on a commercial this morning and it'll be stuck in my head all day long.

I read that today on Fox News. Thankfully it sounds like he should be able to beat it. But given his age, there's could be complications. Praying everything goes well for him.

This year it will be an American Christmas at the Lundgren Family House, well apartment, but the strangest thing is that beyond american-style glazed ham and turkey breast filets, I cannot decide what to have. Anders wants to try making green bean casserole but I need a recipe that does not include canned soup, we don´t have those here, so I would have to make the soup first and then the casserole. Sort of takes the "quick and easy" part out of it.

What dishes are essential to your christmas dinner? How do you make Christmas different from thanskgiving or do you serve the same meal twice? :dinner:

When I was growing up, we had turkey for thanskgiving with all the traditional side dishes, and we had turkey and ham for christmas but the sides were less "strict". We usually have baked sweet potaotes and sauteéd brussel sprouts here in Sweden as they are not available year round (unless you count frozen brussel sprouts).

LIfe is one Christmas adventure after another.

We have basically the same thing for Christmas dinner as we do for Thanksgiving. Turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, squash, corn. Dessert is usually different though. Thanksgiving is pumpkin pie, usually at Christmas it is cherry or apple pie, tarts and assorted squares and cookies. Also over the Christmas week we have pumpernickel bread with spinach dip, cheese ball with crackers, pate and ham spread. :dinner:

My poor darling youngest is home today with the flu.
She is sleeping right now. When she awakes I am going to put on Christmas Vacation and cuddle with her. Hopefully this will make her feel a little better.

Andy Williams has a theatre in Branson. I have always wanted to go but haven't. We go to Branson quite often but always get distracted by the other many things to do. I'm sure that the Christmas show there is awesome. :holly1:

Mistletoe Misfit---I'm sure that cuddling with Mom and a good Christmas movie will make your dd feel lots better. Hoping she gets well soon. :smilecc:

I know a day at home with my mother and Christmas movies would be just what the doctor ordered for myself. I hope she's feeling better tomorrow.
