OH MY GOODNESS!
I know I haven't been here in week and I sure did miss hearing about everyone's week.
I have been on vacation all week so far and have been busy busy busy.
But, we got all the Christmas decorations up inside and out.
I'll post some pics later.

Me too. We should have snow by now but my husband said the paper reported that we are having a "warm" november.

Happy Thanksgiving USA! You have to cheer for me at the Macy´s Thanskgiving Day Parade which is the official start of Christmas! Missing all the great Christmas movies on Hallmark. :-)

Just out of curiosity, I read online that many New englanders have adopted the canadian thanskgiving as a smaller reason(excuse) to have a feast. Have any of our Canadian christmas friends done the opposite? Having an extra minor turkey day along with the US? :dinner:

Today´s swedish newspaper has a swedish adaptation of the thanskgiving meal! Very useful especially since the turkey uses "southwest" spices of chili powder and paprika. It has a salmon appetizer (very swedish), turkey breast with grilled sweet potatoes, sauteéd red onions, and a "sauce" made from créme fraiche. The dessert is made with butternut squash instead of pumpkin. We have butternut squash year round and pumpkin at odd times of the year. I was boiling pumpkin in July. :pumpkin:

I am thinking to use these recipes for Christmas dinner! :dinner:

I forgot to mention that the "southwest" spiced turky recipe is useful because I am from San Antonio and my family has tex mex for christmas day. A great way to honor all traditions in one! :peekleaves2:

Happy Thanksgiving to all my American Christmas All Year friends. I'm watching the parade as I finish up my cooking before we head out to my parents. Hope everyone has a wonderful day. :thanks:

It is 8:52 am swedish time and I am wearing my silver candy cane earrings, charlie brown christmas t shirt, VERY red christmas socks which everyone can see since swedes do not wear shoes indoors, my "christmas ring" with ruby, emerald and sapphire, have my all christmas all the time mp3 with me, and have just ordred hubby 2 christmas presents from Ebay. I do not know if they will get here in time, but that is okay. His family had a tradition of saving 1 present until New year´s. I ordered two christmas t shirts (none here in sweden), so I can give him the one that says "winter wonderland" and save the british white one that says Mr. Christmas for a surprise Christmas in July gift. :shop:

I also have a USB christmas tree I haven not gotten out yet. I share this desk, but will recieve my own office on December 1, so I might wait on that.

OH, and as an added Christmas present, he recieved a call last night at dinner time asking if he was still interested in a job here at the university AND has an interview Monday at the British Primary School for a fulltime permanent job. Praying for that Christmas Miracle! :gbhouse:

We were watching the 2010 parade last night while we were cooking. It was quite fun, I told my swedish hubby, basically, seen one, seen them all, but we will check online for this year´s parade over the weekend. Macy´s Parade, the official start of Christmas! :balloons:

Hope your day is filed with Christmas decorating, Christmas movies, and only if you enjoy it shopping!

The tree is up, the boxes are down but now I'm putting away the Autumn designs. The virus continues so when finished its off to bed for this tired Elf! :D
