Absolutely beautiful. Last year I received a nativity set from a friend in the US, I am thinking with a kitten who is rapidly turning into a big cat that likes to walk on window ledges, that we might skip a year putting it out. It is heavy resin, but I would still hate to take the chance of it breaking.

Christmas is just around the corner!

Yes, perfectly understandable to me! We had a cherished set made for my grandmother, but each year at least one more piece was broken. It was porcelin, and no matter where we placed it or how we afixed it, someone bumped up against. We keep it safe now for the generations to come.

I had a plaster of paris set hand cast and painted by my grandfather. I was not about to risk it being shipped here, so I left it with a cousin, also his grandson. He has a 4 year old and one on the way, so I do not think he is puttting it out right now either. We must keep those special christmas memories safe!

Noel--I LOVE your Christmas pictures. You have gotten more done sick than I have well. lol  But your Christmas decorations really are beautiful. And I especially love the one of your kitty. I can dress my dog in a little Santa suit, but If I tried to dress the cat I know I would have missing body parts. :smilecc:

Thanks Kiwi. My wife is a wonderful decorator. She agreed to decorate a week early this year.

Well, all the outside decorating is done too. I ran off to $ store and picked up some cheap garland, some outdoor gold metallic bows, and some jingle bells. My mailbox hasn't been decorated for a couple of years so I did up gold/green!

Of course now they're predicting 25 mph winds this weekend? Oh, well, it looks Christmasy today!! :D

There is a Santa run this weekend. Everyone who is participating in the 5K must wear a Santa costume. I wish I was a runner. :santa:

Hubby went off to work today wearing his Mr. Christmas t shirt I ordered from Ebay UK. I gave it to him last night (this is why I wind up buying more christmas presents, I cannot hang onto anything) and he said he was going to wait until Christmas. I said, no, you wear it all month long. I will hang onto the winter wonderland one if it arrives in time, he can wear that all the way until easter if we still have snow. :shop: :snowwow:

Today I decorated my office for Christmas! Snowmen, snow, jingle bells, small lighted Christmas tree and candy canes. I'm SO in the Christmas mood now! :smilecc:

It is nice to hear about people decorating at their workplace. Working at a school, we are not allowed to put up any Christmas decorations.

Really? not even secular ones like garland or white lights? I was searching online for examples of "office decor" and did find one sight that suggested you not use red or green for fear of "offending" others. They suggested black and white and I thought, how boring. I had one Jewish friend in the US who went all out with blue and white decor and lights with snowflakes and snowmen as her motif and a giant menorrah in the yard with attachable "flames". (I do admit she was a rather eccentric person to begin with and hardly the "norm", but it was cute) You could put a sign on your door/desk that says "happy everything", but then I am evil.

I think other celebrations should be acknowledged, but christmas is the most widespread worldwide. :scene:

Starting today, AbcFamily and Disney Movie Rewards have a promotion where you can earn 5 Disney Movie Rewards every day until Christmas. I just did it and it's super simple. You have to be a Disney Movie Rewards member. It's free to join. I've been a member for a long time and have used my points to get dd some really nice gifts.

Dd's class is really getting into the holiday Spirit. Yesterday they put up and decorated their Christmas tree and today they are making handprint wreaths. They will also be having a big Christmas party complete with Santa Claus. :santachim:
