My family had a great day at church. We got lots more decorations put up and I brought home all the kids gifts so we can get them wrapped and under the tree. :treegifts:

We just watched a great movie on the Hallmark Channel.....November Christmas with Sam Elliot. It's a great story about a little girl who has cancer and will have to go back to the hospital at Christmas time to take more treatments so her family and their neighbors work together to give her an early and unforgettable Christmas. :scene:

that's your past...........like Christmas, hope begins a new each year. Believing in a good future for you! :holly1:

My first christmas afer my divorce in 2004, I went to St. Louis to visit friends. It turned out to one of my best christmases ever. Being with different people, doing different things, experiencing a polish influenced christmas eve. By the next year, I was ready to celebrate life again. The true message of Christmas is that love came down from the heavens to dwell with us here on earth. Allow yourself to experience the love of friends and famiy and try something new if the fancy strikes you. Go to a place you have never been (christmas or not), attend a new event, or just go by yourself to a concert of beautiful music. High schools, colleges, and churches have lots of free concerts this time of year.

watched that for the first time this year. It was fantastic. Sam Elliot is one of my all time favorite actors, but eveyone in the film did a marvelous job! Sadly it was on my hard drive that crashed along with all our digital photos from my last three years in Sweden. The swedish tomte is bringing a new computer, but we lost so much good stuff. I am glad we uploaded quite a few to facebook! They live forever in cyberspace.

Still no clue when I will get my promised office, but I brought my Holly Berry beanie baby to work for company and a couple of strings of garland and snow flake "beads" so
I will be ready! We also bought scrap material this weekend to make the pennants over the holidays. I thought we would start with the shortest "God Jul" to test the process. We need to get the "stiffener" (sp) to put in the middle and maybe some felt for the letters. But it should be a nice project over the Christmas holidays.

You know you are in the SCA when a quiet evening at home means sitting on the couch and hand sewing together.

Our rain changed to sleet which then changed to glorious snow. :flake: :flake: :flake: Not a lot. Just enough to dust the ground, make the roads slick, and cancel our Christmas parade. But the parade has already be rescheduled so I'm already looking forward to it again. :smilecc:

My brother and I helped decorate my parents house last night. It was strange cutting down a tree when it is 48 degrees out. :snowwow:

Today, December 6, is St. Nicholas day which is celebrated as the gift-giving day for children in many parts of Europe, especially Holland and Belgium. Hubby went to work in his Mr. Christmas t shirt, so put on your St. Nicholas/Santa christmas clothes and costume jewelry and enjoy the day! When I worked in the US, many people wore Christmas clothes, in Sweden.........well, let´s just say I am the only one I have seen and they think I am rather odd in my Santa earrings, denim shirt with cat "cowboys" around a christmas tree, cat santa pin, christmas bracelet and "christmas ring" with emerald, ruby and sapphire (I only wear it for the holidays and Christmas in July) oh, and I forgot the red christmas tree socks which everyone can see because you have "indoor" shoes even in offices in sweden. Yes, they think I am weird. Oh, and Holly Bear says he is lonely, so I am bringing in Hanukkah Bear tomorrow. If I can find Kwanzaa bear they may cart me off to the funny farm. :gbhouse:

We watched both of these last night. Charlie Brown Christmas is a must watch and I really liked the new Prep and Landing. I thought it was better than the first one. :carolbells:

Very festively dressed I say!!!! :D I wish I had a little more Christmas clothing!

My 7 year old dd teacher is teaching them about ST. Nicholas Day. Each of the children in her class were asked to bring in a wrapped, inexpensive gift(under $5) today. :smilecc:

I was a little disappointed to hear that our Christmas party for work won't be happening until January 20th. Oh well, I guess that just means that I can extend the season until then! It's not like I don't in my own head anyways. :P
