Hubby wants to find a Santa hat for the new cat and she needs a christmas stocking.

In the more unpleasant news, Hubby was turned down for two jobs in two days. Tough to find the Christmas spirit today.

Strange Christmas Facts from http://www.ChristmasFacts.net

The people at Reynolds et al make a substantial amount of money selling foil during the Yuletide season. It has been confirmed that at least 3000 tons of foil are used to wrap turkeys annually.

Sorry to hear this Tomtemor. But sometimes when things don't work out, it's because something far better is just around the corner. Hoping that's the case and your hubby finds a job by Christmas. :smilecc:

Good question. I put up 1 stocking for my dogs and 1 stocking for my 2 cats. I get them treats and toys. This year I bought a coat and a sweater for dd's new chihuahua puppy. I'll also be buying lots of carrots for the rabbit, horses, and Rudolph too. :rudolph: Animals need Christmas too. :rabstar:

I almost forgot to put the red bows on my outside bird feeders. I did that this morning. I also put up some Christmas colored solar lights in the garden. :merrygift:

Today's mailman brought a package, and the UPS man left 3 huge boxes at the door  front. I found them a few minutes ago when I got home. Evidently, the UPS man was not in a Christmasy mood because he didn't ring the doorbell. One box was cookies - oh, well, I can eat them no matter what!

Jennifer, sorry to hear about the job situation with your husband. I had problems finding a job this summer and was fortunate that the connections I had made in my last position helped me find my current position. Try to keep your heads up. I will say a prayer for you. :D

As a matter of fact, I found a new perfect gift for a cat- bubbles. I received bubbles at a wedding I was at last week. The cat loves chasing and popping them. Just in case anyone needs any ideas for pet gifts.

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!! :smilecc:

Those are some tough holiday hours. Praying for you! Good thing we celebrate Christmas All Year! :merrytree:

We found christmas toilet paper and kitchen paper (scott towels) for the second year in a row! This year´s motif is sort of a cross between the american santa and swedish tomte. with red mittens in between. Cute! Have to get one more round of toilet paper so we can save some for Christmas in July. It was fun to pull out and use last year especially when it was too hot to do any other decorating. :gbhouse:

ah. AND.........I found November Christmas on DVD from a Swedish source for a very good price! Sadly, Hallmark cut its scandinavian feed. Hoping to look for more movies in the future.

Christmas shopping may be hazardous to your health. If you are an avid Christmas shopper statistics have concluded that you will be elbowed at least three times while shopping. Ouch!

Hello everyone, sorry I haven't been on here that much. Been a very busy past month for me and my family. Had to have a heart cath done the week before Thanksgiving and since then I have been fighting the worst case of bronchitis I have ever had. Even with all of this I still have my Christmas spirit as high as ever and can't wait for the day to get here. Hope everyone else has a great day.

Actually one more thing that has really bugged me and I want to know what everyone else thinks.

We have a local radio station that is playing Christmas music 24/7 through Christmas day, that is not bugging me what is bugging me is a commercial they play which has three children in which one child asks for an American Doll, second child asked for IPAD, and the last child just asked for money and gift cards. I guess I am just wanting to know when did Christmas become all about the material things and not about being with family and celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ, I don't know maybe I am getting grouchy as I get older but I know for my wife and me it is all about family and that is what we teach our children, now my kids do get gifts and lots of them but that is not the focal point of Christmas with us, my kids actually look forward to Christmas dinner when we have all kinds of family in our home together.

Sorry about the rant, just had to get that off my chest.
