Tomorrow will be church at 4pm, a stop at my aunt's home to visit relatives on my father's side of the family. Then, off to my girlfriend's aunt's home for dinner, partying and secret Santa. :blinky1:

I had a sort of Christmas miracle this morning. Well, the way things were looking, it seemed like I was in for a green Christmas. All of the weather channels were reporting absolutely no snow. But I didn't give up hope, as I kept praying that God would give me a White Christmas for weeks on end. However, as the days went by, and still no snow, I began to lose faith. However, this morning when I woke up I looked out the window and saw snow! It wasn't large amounts of snow, but it did almost completely cover the grass. Now I'm praying that God will give me just a little more by tomorrow and that it won't melt. Fingers crossed :flake:

I've already started my cooking this morning. We are headed to my parents this evening to have Chistmas with them, then we are bringing dd back so she can get ready for Santa! :santachim:

Got this Christmas tune stuck in my head.....

Here comes Santa Claus!
Here comes Santa Claus!
Right down Santa Claus Lane!
Vixen and Blitzen and all his reindeer
are pulling on the reins.
Bells are ringing, children singing;
All is merry and bright.
Hang your stockings and say your prayers,
'Cause Santa Claus comes tonight.

Here comes Santa Claus!
Here comes Santa Claus!
Right down Santa Claus Lane!
He's got a bag that is filled with toys
for the boys and girls again.
Hear those sleigh bells jingle jangle,
What a beautiful sight.
Jump in bed, cover up your head,
'Cause Santa Claus comes tonight.

“Our hearts grow tender with childhood memories and love of kindred, and we are better throughout the year for having, in spirit, become a child again at Christmastime.”

I probably should get out of bed and wrap up the few presents that I have left. It is hard getting out from under the flannel sheets though. :sleephat:

On Christmas morning, my father always makes cinnamon buns. I can hardly wait for those tomorrow morning. A lot of my fondest holiday memories have food in them. Am I noticing a pattern? :treegifts:

A really thick frost outside makes it look like snow. That's as close as I'll get to a White Christmas this year. :flake:

Hubby has taken over the dining room and turned it into Gift Wrap Central so he can wrap the Christmas gifts he bought yesterday. He won't even tell me what he bought for dd. This is gonna be good.

Oliver Cromwell, in England banned Christmas Carols between 1649 and 1660. Cromwell thought that Christmas should be a very solemn day so he banned carols and parties. The only celebration was by a sermon and a prayer service. :carollers:
