Well...my house is now completely devoid of Christmas decorations. It's like another part of me is missing

One year my mother forgot to put away the nativity set and it stayed out until easter. a few times in the past I have deliberately left it out. Search beach christmas on amazon, even if you do not order anything, it is good for a laugh and will cheer you up!

Hubby bought a 4 pack of Christmas beer (yes, we have such a thing in Sweden) to put away for Christmas in July, now I have to find space in the very tiny closets for it.

Talked to my sister last night, and she's recovering from surgery. Her tree & decorations are still up too. We decided to see who could be the last to take down their very last Christmas decoration. This challenge may take a year - YAY!

Just received an email offer from Amazon for some new "holiday" set dvds. Every title had Christmas in it, but they omitted the word. Kinda offended me.......it is Christmas movies my family watches!

Actually, I would kind like to see more "holiday" movies than just Christmas. We need some really good Hanukkah and Kwanzaa movies too to really feel in synch with our other holiday friends. Not for the faint of heart is The Hebrew Hammer (warning: foul language, sex, and offensive humor) which one must watch with their tongues in their cheek but is one of the funniest movies I have ever seen. Warning: do not watch it with the kids. It is an equal opportunity offender. The only Kwanzaa thing I can think of is a Rugrats cartoon which is actually pretty well done though I am not a Rugrats fan. If you are, there is a holiday DVD set of Rugrats that covers Thanksgiving, Christmas, Hanukkah and Kwanzaa. I bought it only for the Hannukah and Kwanzaa episodes.

Some reading about the Swedish King Knut´s day and the end of the christmas season! We usually settle down with some snack mix and hot chocolate after the decorations are put away. I am looking for a snack mix recipe that does not include popcorn. We do not have chex cereal, so I have to find equivalents. Sometimes its tough living in Sweden.

On the plus side, we have snow and it looks like Christmas!

I tried making some in the oven but had the oven on too high, I forgot that C stood for Celsius and not "Christmas"

looking for a "no bake" recipe this year.

Thinking of making something similar to this for our "undecorating party" at the end of the month. I will have to look up the chex honey mix and see what is in it and make substitutions. I wonder if candied fruit like you use for a Christmas fruitcake will work. have to come up with something for the bow too.

Not so much "recycling" as finding substitute ingredients. Not sure we have "gumdrops" per se. Sweden has alot of candy, but it mostly of the gummi variety (frogs, bears) etc. My teeth cannot take that. Trying to come up with an end of Christmas treat!

My cousin´s wife has been on "baby watch" since the week before Christmas and she finally delivered a beautiful baby girl last night. Welcome Brynleigh Ann! My husband said he was glad she did not have a christmas birthday since it would get lost in the holiday shuffle, but I think that would have been great! I always wanted a child born at christmas so I could name her Merry Noele, but no luck!

Post a picture of your train set if you can. I love Christmas villages. When the cats are gone, my village will go up!
