Hej Father Christmas! I love your avatar! That´s why some of us plan a "christmas in july" mini celebration. Search beach christmas on amazon or ebay just for the fun of it. It helps lift the Christmas soul! We bought small hawaiian ornaments and sea shell garland for the little tree in the kitchn. Now I just need a star fish for the top. We will make a reversible tree skirt for both "christmases". It is fun to plan!

Thank you for the advice Tomtemor. I do plan for Christmas in July, but I still can't get the December Winter Wonderland Christmas (event though I didn't get any snow this year) out of my head. But that's what this website and all of my Christmas friends are for

I save the "snow" and "winter" movies for the after Christmas blues. Snow Dogs, Happy Feet, Doctor Zhivago, Ice Station Zebra, The Thing........that should be enough snow for you!

I grew up in winter wonderland mid-west USA but as an adult have lived mostly in California & Arizona. It is 80F here today.........Christmas was a balmy 73F. What do I do? I decorate with fake snow, frosted or beaded or glowing eveything at Christmas time. Pull on your childhood ability to pretend.........I imagine it white, beautiful, with misty skies when the full sun is blasting 73 in the shade at me!
You can do it Father Christmas! And here.......at CAY........we celebrate every day of the year!

What does anyone else think about Easter? I think of it as Christmas in Spring because there is a figure who brings gifts the night before the actual holiday (like Santa Claus) and are both based on Christianity.

Well, Father Christmas, from a Christian standpoint, Easter is the fullfillment of Christmas. also, yes, there is the Easter Bunny. But in my house, the Easter Bunny came early in the morning, I guess that is true, so does Santa in the US. My mother said I took the "news" about Santa okay, but that I cried when I found out there is no Easter Bunny. I do not remember this, perhaps because I still refuse to believe it. However, unfortunately, the Easter Bunny does not visit Sweden. I know that in the US, Easter has become a sort of Second Christmas with prepackaged easter baskets. I need to do some research on what they used to contain in the good ole days before Walmart. Maybe I can put something together. We do have chocolate rabbits and are starting to see a bit more each year. Swedes do change the curtains and the linens for Easter, it creates quite a contrast because some years we still have snow at easter time.
