I saw a yellow VW beetle with a red Rudolph nose on it's hood! It was a welcomed sign from Christmas!

Thanks. It was a tough night. It seems that our unemployment benefits may not be restarted since I took a 4 month fulltime temp job and hubby has been working pt since August. We were told that they would pick up where they left off but now that seems to be in doubt. One day at a time. I had some Christmas cheer this morning by catching a Christmas-themed Lois & Clark episode on swedish tv!

Starting April 1st, hubby is putting me back in swedish boot camp which means no communication in english, but there is always www.google.com/translate!

I was told last evening that my job is no longer protected and I mmay be eliminated at any time. As I'm the only one working now that is a huge disappointment and this morning I don't want to go to work to face it. Fickle feelings........I'm reminded of the Christmas Santa Claus movie: "just put one foot in front of the other and soon you'll be walking out the door"!

Noel--This truly breaks my heart for you. I know that you have been working so hard to keep your family afloat recently. I don't blame you for not wanting to face the situation. Sending warm Christmas Wishes your way!

I would have loved to have seen this. I love finding those little bits of Christmas that are sprinkled around all year long. joyelf

Hubby and dd have both been sick with that sinus/coughing junk that's been going around here for several months. I had the coughing to some extent but nothing like they have. Finally both are doing better now. It's Dr. Seuss week at dd's school so she had to take some Dr. Seuss books and of course her favorite movie......The Grinch. :grinch: She loves Christmas....almost as much as her mama does! :smilecc:

I have to confess what a big movie coward I am. Sunday night I was in search of a good movie and finally settled on Narnia-The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe. I have watched this movie many, many times in it's different forms and I still have to skip through the part where the witch 'kills' Aslan. To which my hubby always teases me with the 'It's just a movie' routine. I just love all those snowy scenes. Even if it is always Winter and never Christmas. So then last night I thought I'd found a good movie for us to watch together. Wrongo! The Road with Viggo Mortenson. It got to this one part and I could not get out of the room fast enough. And if you have watched this movie you know EXACTLY which part I'm talking about. Scary stuff. I think I'd better stick with my Christmas movies.

Actually, that scene is not "movie routine' but the center of that book in the series. The movie has the ending out of order.......a disappointment........but it still is good.

Sadly, no more Narnia movies will be made for atleast 5 years. The movie company let their contract with the Lewis Estate fail to renew. I'm so disappointed!

I read all of CS Lewis's books when I was younger. I think they might be do for a re-read. Actually 'The Road' is based on a novel and I should probably read it. The concept of the movie was intriguing and definetly worth checking out the book.

Spring is here for us. Christmas feels very far away right now. :holly1:

Yes, Christmas seems very far away right now here too. We're having 85F plus temperatures. So I decorated for Spring and used some Christmas lights in spring colors to cheer up the house! :D
