Then had some pot pourri oil cloves , manderin and canella scented and gave the oranges a good dab with the oil . Have them next to my door so you smell them when you walk in , so christmasy :gbhouse: Watched Diehard 1 last night which is sort of christmasy and will watch Diehard 2 tonight . Usually fall to sleep though as im still working until the end of october and its long hours . Praying for you all good health and provision and the right job . Blessings :D

I have not made those since elementary school, but would go very well with minimal swedish decor. How long do they last? do they "rot" and then have to be replaced? orances and cloves are no problem, but ribbon could be. what a nice Christmas memory.

I miss Swiss colony. I used to use them for long distance Christmas gifts. Always wanted to treat myself to something too, but that never happened. We are going to a fall faire on Sunday and hope to get some similar cheese and sausage logs. :shop:

Hey Tomtemor as long as the orange is firm and you literally fill the outside with cloves , except the bits where you draw 2 bands around to put a ribbon , they will last for years !! Some of mine are 5 or 6 years old now but still look good . I usually make a new one every year to add to them as they do take alot of time . Happy christmas orange making :smilecc:

Today we gave the kitchen floor a good cleaning and changed the curtains to the fall leaves material. That always lifts my spirits and make christmas feel that much closer! We celebrate Thanskgiving in a couple of weeks. I need to measure the turkey and make sure it will fit in the roasting pan. It is very small by American standards, so I am reasonably sure it will be okay. I would like to have a job, but being off gives me more time to cook and bake which makes me happy. Would love to know I had a job in January though.

as we say in Texas, Happy FAll Ya'll!

Well, my back held out and I was able to do a few extra chores around the house yesterday. I even had time to work on my Christmas project. My wife saw it the garage and now she can't wait for me to finish it. Hopefully I will finish it soon, then I can post some pictures.

Tomtemor,
Happy Fall y'all to you also!

I have spent the weekend on Cape Cod. Had a great time! I went to the first Christmas Tree Shoppe store today and got some fall decorations. It is finally time to let go of summer. I am excited to decorate our first house! :scene:

I am so ready for Christmas! :D

Last night, while showering, the valve broke!! I had to turn the entire house water system off. My brother in law tried to fix and spent hours going from Home Depot to Home Depot to find a new valve. Our home is over 50 years old and they don't even have the valve # on record! He had to retrofit a newer one. I asked him to buy an extra since every year they drop off available parts to older homes. Whew! What a relief to have it replaced!

Time for some Christmas music and I'm in the mood for Andy's "Its The Most Wonderful Time of the Year"! :singing:

Noel, I'm glad to hear that your valve is fixed. How frustrating.
Thank God for your brother-in-law.

We picked up our Operation Christmas Child shoe boxes this morning at church.
Now we need to get out our sack of presents and goodies to see what else we need to buy.

Yes, our church also does this great charity every holiday season. I buy sale items all year and we're ready for our boxes. Its the best gift to be able to touch these children [and their families] each year! Now that is Christmas! :D
