While driving to my parents house last night, I noticed a house with a GIANT inflatable Santa (at least 12 feet tall) up in someone's front yard. I couldn't help but smile. It looks like someone else has Christmas on their mind all year.

Oh. I'm not getting any snow here in Georgia. High of 83 today.
I just saw it on the map and thought it was great. But no snow here.
I hope to see some when we visit family this Christmas.

It's snowing! Christmas is only two months away!

Interview was so so,but we shall see. Who cares when it is snowing!
I have to go to one of those mass recruitment meetings which is a total waste of time. Have to dig out the snow boots and the swedish longjohns. Just when this morning I thought I needed to find the american ones (lighter). I guess we skipped that step this year.

While dropping dd off at school this morning we passed a house that had pumpkins and scarecrows on the porch, and Christmas trees and snowmen in the yard. I wonder if they are gonna hand out candy canes to trick-or-treaters.

I got my copy of the Joys of Christmas book from Guideposts in the mail this week and I finally got time to sit down and read it. This years edition is wonderful as always. I especially enjoyed reading the heartwarming animal stories. :scene:

We have had two christmas lights spotting in the local apartment community! The european time change is tonight which brings on the eternal darkness, so more and more will start popping up. We might put some up but it seems wrong to turn them on before first Advent. As much as I like seeing them, I also like the anticipation of "the night". Hubby said his mother used to enjoy being the first to turn them on at 12:01 on the Sunday of first Advent. Early birds are nice, but they sort of ruin the affect. :scene: :gbhouse: :lights:

I agree Jennifer. Early birds can ruin it a little. I love the anticipation of the season. The town I work in put up all their Christmas decorations this week. Luckily, they won't turn them on until Thanksgiving night. (Same time as me)

My wife and I just got done watching "It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown".
I absolutely love it. Makes me feel like a kid again.
That's probably why I love the Christmas season so much. Make me feel like a kid.

A friend in the US mentioned that Sharon Osbourne (wife of Ozzy Osbourne) has been campaigning to remove the Great Pumpkin from television because of the "negative" messages for kids. Has anyone heard of this? I can just imagine what she has to say about the Charlie Brown Christmas special....what with that pesky section from the gospel of Luke. (sarcasm intended).
