They exchanged gifts and they were all so happy with whatever they got. Wishing everyone still had the sweet Spirit that young children have. We continue to pray for the families in Connecticut. Their lives, and their Christmas's, are forever changed. May God give them peace. :holly1:

Just saw on the news there has been a huge response of love, supporti & gifts to the residents of Ct. Especially the families grieving...........may their hearts be eased from pain by His presence.

Your sweet DD is a total joy, CK. :rabstar:

I have been worrying about those families who lost children at christmas. To lose a child at any time is devastating. I posted in another forum, but not sure I did it here. In my previous job as a church office manager, I had contact with a support organization called Compassionate Friends. If anyone knows any of the families involved or anyone who has experienced the loss of a child, please pass on this information. You can check http://www.compassionatefriends.com for the local chapter. On their main website is also a place to write messages to the families in mourning.

That's a wonderful referral, Jennifer. Thank you for posting it. We all know someone who is suffering this Christmas, and that is an excellent resource!

Feel better!

Lost yesterday to either stomach flu or emotional exhaustion, not sure which came first. Now I have two days to make up for. I am pretending it is Saturday. Hoping to regain my Christmas joy! :scene:

I hope you're feeling better Jennifer.
Two years ago I was sick for most of the Christmas get togethers and I missed everything.
That was no fun.

I wish you lots of Christmas cheer! :smilecc:

Cheers to all our Christmas friends! :smilecc:

kiwidogy_max wrote:Last night's Christmas Sweater Party was a great success! I baked my first turkey dinner with all of the fixings and friends brought great dishes to share. We built a gingerbread house and played games. We enjoyed hit apple cider with cinnamon sticks and rum. I enjoyed that a little too much because I have been recovering for most of the day today. I am not 21 anymore! But it was all worth it as it was a great night with friends! We are already planning for next year.

 I can relate to the 'not 21 anymore'! Your party sounded wonderful! Great sweaters, great food and great friends make for a perfect Christmas celebration!

So just relax & enjoy today. Tomorrow is Christmas Eve! :smilecc:

Just chatting with my CAY friends as I wait for my brother's arrival. Then we're all off to Candlelight services, dinner at my sister's house, and a grand evening.

Tomorrow we travel back to my sister's house for mid-day dinner, after we've opened our presents of course!

Merry Christmas!! :snowwow:

Merry Christmas Eve to all of my CAY friends! I LOVE this feeling! I just got back from a wonderful Christmas Eve party. Great food and friends. We got the cutest little gingerbread houses as party favors. I think I was given about 6 to take home.

Hope everyone had a great christmas eve and will have a great Christmas day! It is 12:09 here and we are expecting 15 cm of new snow. Glad we are not going anywhere. Our usual "budget" cruise line is under new management and does not appear to be running between christmas and new year´s, so no boxing day cruise this year. I am kinda sad, but we are going to a "christmas table" (buffet) at the Lebanese Pizzaria across the street tomorrow night. They do a spread of their more ethnic dishes and it is quite delicious. A nice change from "christmas food" which swedes eat for a week. Today I just have to make a small turkey breast and brussel sprouts to go with our leftovers from yesterday. We made the honey-chipotle ham with our own homemade chili pepper meade and it tasted GREAT! :dinner:

Hubby managed to change my avatar doing the same exact steps I did, but of course they worked for him. He has the Christmas touch. :-)
