My brother drove up today to help pack up things. It took him 4 hours to get here, he stayed 4 hours and then another 4 hours to drive home. He's a Christmas elf in disguise! We packed up the large bathroom [I have a ton of Philosophy/Bare Escentuals!] and started on bookcases. I have 7 floor-to-ceiling bookcases stuffed with books upon books. My brother is a good encourager to give some away. I also have 8 pairs of very good dress/work shoes that I haven't even worn once for Goodwill! It will take 2 weeks to pack up everything in the house and I'm trying to let go of some things. Well, except Christmas decorations -

My old posts say Toy Maker but my new ones say Elf Apprentice. Oh well, it is all in Christmas fun. Just watched the National concert. It is almost as much fun as Christmas!

I have now booked a Christmas in JUly cruise with my beautiful hubby for July 24-25. We will be going to Åbo which is Finnish, so we can we were "out of the country" this year. Our old budget cruise line went under, so we will go fewer times now, but best of all we have jobs so we can take an anniversary cruise in October!

I told my aunt we were thinking of coming for a visit in Nov/Dec if Perky´s american visa is ready. We have to fly into an american airport to get it validated but then it is good forever though we are not moving if one of us gets a permanent job. She said "can´t you come for thanksgiving and stay till christmas"....

Greetings Christmas friends! Trying to think cool Christmas thoughts in this heat today. 81F outside, 86F inside. Hoping to take a day cruise this week if we get a break in the heat. It is not one we need to book, just show up and buy a ticket. When do my Christmas friends have their official "christmas in July dinner"? We used to have it on the Saturday night of our Christmas in July week which used to run Sunday to Sunday, but I am changing it this year to Saturday to Saturday.

Good Tuesday morning Christmas friends! We are off to the store to pick up some food to make a picnic for tomorrrow. We will take a day cruise to Mariefred. It is 3 hours on a the steamship, 3 hours in "town", and then 3 hours home. We will have dinner on the ship on the way back. The lunch and dinner menu is the same, so there was little point in paying for both meals, thus the picnic!

How did we ever live without all this technology?? 6 weeks is about the average Swedish vacation to their "summer houses" which often do not have electricity or indoor plumbing. NO Christmas fun to me! Hoping it goes much quicker than they plan!

Merry Tinsel Tuesday! I have started the Christmas in July e book. It seems cute. It is hard to say how "long" an ebook will be, but the chapters are short. Perky has a new "surf board" on loan from his resource room job. He is not impressed and does not want one for Christmas.
