What a Christmas size bummer!!! Image
My daughter and I were stuck for an hour on the interstate just a quarter of a mile from our exit. Single car wreck right in front of our exit ramp. Blocked all three south bound lanes.
I hope the driver was OK.

Had a good day rearranging my office. My beautiful husband gave me the christmas gift of his labor and expertise. We were done in half a day when I thought it would take two. A helpful loving husband is the best christmas gift I ever received!

You should add Swedish Thanksgiving to your countdown. it is the second sunday of October which means is USUALLY falls the same weekend as Canadian Thanksgiving. But last year or year before they were "off" due to October starting on a Sunday. We will be having our big turkey then, especially if we plan to go to the US for American Thanksgiving. Otherwise, we will never be ready for Christmas! :scene:

http://www.tasteofhome.com/Recipes/Trad ... corn-Balls

might have to try these for Christmas this year. Perfect for the "undecorating" party.

UNDECORATING DAY is the sadest day of the year.
But those will help keep your Christmas spirit up.

Sweden has a "uniform" undecorating day, January 13, St. Knut´s day. Many people take the day off from work and make a party of it. We put our decorations up after American thanksgiving (except maybe this year since we hope to be visiting the US for thanksgiving), so by January 13, I am ready for them to come down. Also, in Sweden, January 13 is the "20th" day of Christmas which I conveniently mix up with "jan 20th" so that gets me another week. At the univ, January is the transition between the fall and spring terms so it is tough to take the extra day off which usually takes me to the following weekend, which is almost the end of the month. It is considered bad luck to still have them up at Candlemas (which was the end of Christmas in the middle ages). We make popcorn, snack mix, drink hot chocolate and listen to christmas music. We usually watch Christmas movies until the end of the month as well. :scene:

Jennifer I love hearing about all of the Swedish Christmas traditions! I am totally like you, I conveniently can never seem to get around to taking down the decorations until the hubs just starts tearing them down himself out of sheer frustration that I haven't started on them yet! Lol :gbhouse:

I have spent all morning listening to Christmas music and will watch another Christmas movie tonight to put a close to my Christmas in July. I have really enjoyed all the Christmas activities that I have done this month and it only makes me wish that the Christmas season would get here even sooner. Hope everyone is having a blessed Wednesday. :smilecc:

Have received some news on the income front that has bothered me, it is putting a little damper on my Christmas in July celebrating but I will not let it get me completely down. I know that a silver lining will always show itself when bad things happen, just be positive and everything will be alright. :smilecc:

I think the movie for tonight will be The Santa Clause 3, I have already watched the first two this month and it will be a nice night to watch the final installment in this series. :smilecc:

For my youth group tonight I am talking about charity, which is a word that has been given a bad rep in the world today except for around Christmastime. :smilecc:

"Love thy neighbor as thy self".
It's not just charity, it's our reasonable service as Christians.
Preach on my Christmas friend!

I was very pleased with how my youth took the lesson of charity, they even came up with ideas with for different Christmas charity ideas for our group. :smilecc:
