Just got back from taking Austin to college. Freshman year. Mom is taking it very hard. I know he'll be fine. Soon it will be Christmas and he'll be home for a month.

I read that this is the time some families include "Christmas in July" in their homes because the more the kids are in college, the less they come home for Christmas, you know, friends, ski trips, girlfriends, etc. I am sure both he and your wife will be fine. I hear alot of parents survive. I have one facebook friend who was crying because her daughter is starting 8th grade and wanting to go look at colleges...........time sure does go by fast. I am sure your family will be fine. :scene:

It is not Christmas, but this week I received a package from the US containing some nice rooster themed melmac dishes. This may not sound like much, but chickens are the swedish theme for easter and these are really cute. We will use them for our everyday plates from Easter to Pentecost. I got some pumpkin ones a couple of years ago that we use in October and November, and some Santa plates we use from December-January and again in July. It is fun to change dishes and I am a bit of a clutz so I do not have to worry about breaking them or them being damaged in shipping. Now we just need some for swedish midsummer. a daisy or strawberry theme would be perfect. I am on the lookout!

Merry Friday Christmas! I have been the only one in this week, except for tuesday, so it is a bit quiet at work. I listened to a Christmas in august sermon, watched a Kiwanis Christmas in august event on YouTube, and listened to Santa and the three bears on youTube. It is a cute cartoon. Have to watch it again. And, I actually did get some work done.

Well, hubby gets to have another Christmas tomorrow. Turns out he needs to dress up everyday for work, so its off to buy more shirts and ties. He ordered two jackets online. I am now looking for a tasteful, good looking Christmas tie for him on ebay.

cute cartoon I watched at work yesterday. It is about bears who wonder what they miss since they hibernate over Christmas. It takes place in Yellowstone Park where they celebrate Christmas in August!

Hello Christmas friends!
I'm sitting here watching the Indianapolis Colts preseason football game and wondering why the fall decorations aren't out. I guess I'll have to wait till the regular season starts the first week of September.

GO COLTS!

Cute article I ran across on my annual Christmas in August search. Unfortunately, we do not have room anywhere to leave a tree up year round. The nativity set in the kitchen may have to be sacrified to allow room for the new dishes.

Moving is always exciting. Not always fun, but it is exciting. And then to decorate a new house for Christmas, that's the most exciting! Can't wait to hear about it this Christmas season.

I'm so excited today! I got my Lakeside Collection Christmas 2013 Catalog today!! Yay! Also, just had DD's birthday party this weekend, so my house is pretty clean right now. I also reorganized my whole craft area before the party, so I can actually sit down and do some quilting and scrapbooking without feeling stressed about finding stuff! I am also working on putting back some freezer meals, when I grocery shopped this week, I bought double for each meal so each meal I can make one freezer meal too! This is going to help so much with school getting ready to start. Tonight, I will be taking a huge batch of spotted peaches and peeling, cutting and freezing them, and making some zucchini bread and zucchini relish with all of the giant zucchini I have from my garden. This will all be while the hubs is out front pouring a new sidewalk in front of our house. Gonna be a busy night! But I'm so excited that I feel like I have a good plan to keep up on the housework and dinners/lunches, etc. What's nice is that my boss is letting me change my hours to 6:30-2:30 so I will get off in time to pick the kids up from school!! Woot! They are going to LOVE having that extra time with Mom! Also, the weather is going to be fantastic! It's upper 80's here today, but after today, cooler fall temps are moving in and we'll mostly be in the 70's which will be SO great!! I will be working on clearing out my gardens outside and having some fires! The pool will be taken down, and pretty mums will start blooming soon! Love it!! :peekleaves2: (Sorry for all the rambling! My thoughts are all scattered because I'm so excited!) :smilecc:
