I was watching TV tonight and when the commercials came on, they were all toy commercials. I was thinking, wow they've started early with the Christmas toy commercials. Then I realized I was watching the Disney Channel. Too funny.
Home Alone 3 was on.

Looking in the living & family rooms today - since my brother's furniture was added - and I realize I do not have a single place for a Christmas tree!!!!!!!

Well, we really can't afford a big tree anyway after all this expense........still it's a shocker. I said 'if it comes smack dab in the middle of the living room and no one can sit on the furniture then there it goes'!!!

Got a call back again last night. NOW, they say they need a personal signature and money for customs so they will attempt to deliver it to me at the university. Please pray they can find me! I am praying the local driver is familiar with the university layout or at least will be in a place I can go meet him. The suspense is killing me. I feel like a kid on Christmas morning!

Now I have my ring and it is quite beautiful. The thin band looks great on my short stubby fingers and as an anniversary ring it looks very "swedish". Most swedish women (unless they are royalty) get an eternity ring type and a band. NOw that I have spent 5 years here with 8-9 months every year in gloves, I understand why rings that "stand up" too much are impractical. That is what costume jewelry is for and marketed as "summer" or "vacation" jewelry. The ring is not that wide, but to add a even a thin plain wedding band with it would be too much for my little stubs. So I will be perpetually "engaged" as some swedes are........now on the hunt for Christmas earrings........

just checking in with my Christmas friends after a very busy week. The term is now up and running. I like what I am supposed to do, but do not like doing all the other things that no one wants to do or has been doing. At only 75% employment, I feel rushed all the time. We are having Christmas Chili tonight, a month late......and watching Ice Quake. I need to see snow..........this is the summer that never ends.....I am SO longing for fall. Some years, I have been wearing hat and gloves by the end of August. I think the leaves turning in July was just a teaser. Perky said it was "Indian Summer". I said no, that is when it actually starts to be fall, and then turns back, uaully in October (called Britt sommar in Sweden)

It's a quiet morning for me as I'm alone in the house. My 'should do' list is rattling off in the back of my head while I spend quiet time relaxing. Ha!

I'm sitting here in my recliner watching football. Then I start looking around the living room, day dreaming about Christmas decorations and the tree lit up with presents stacked underneath it. I know it won't be long, but I just can't wait.

But then again, I love the Fall season and don't want any of that to rush by without enjoying it.
Such mixed emotions.

I guess I'm just going to slow down a bit and enjoy what's in front me at the moment.
