Good morning everyone. I am looking into transitioning into another job again. I realize that finding this last job was a great Christmas present this year, but I have come to the realization that being a classroom teacher is just not the right fit for me. I need to find something that doesn't make me so stressed out because I am nervous and anxious about it constantly.

I know that training adults around technology has been so thing that I have done well with, enjoy, and felt confident about. That is my passion.

Praying you find a job within your God-given gifts. I too am a trained teacher but have not set foot into a classroom to teach since graduation. If anyone had given me a personality test along the way, it would have been obvious I was headed in the wrong direction. You might utilize any services from your local unemployment office. They would be aware of vocational and adult education facilities in your area of expertise and might point you in the right direction. Until then, you could volunteer to teach a low stress community ed class to give your "adult" skills some polish as well as give your ego some "strokes" (which we all need). Sorry, I have a headache and my new diabetic regime is making me foggy. Best of luck on finding your dream job before next Christmas.

Merry Friday Christmas! I will be so glad when this week is over, not that next week will be much better. Starting Monday, I start seeing students. Not sure what I am supposed to do with them, but we shall see. Unfortunately, I get no additional hours for my additional tasks. I keep reminding myself that I am grateful to have a job. Getting permanent and/or 100% is the next goal.

Tomorrow if the weather is decent we will go to the cloth shop and buy 20 meters of material. I am not sure I want to know what that will cost. We want to make reversible duvet covers for all seasons. It is a very swedish thing to change the linens, but making our own will cost a bit more. I want: Spring/Easter, Summer/Christmas in July, Fall/Thankgiving, and Winter/Christmas. We are starting with Spring/Easter. Here at the North Pole, Easter often comes before Spring. ;-)

I think finding Christmas in July material will be a bit tough. I have seen some online, but of course shipping to sweden is horrendous. Might have to wait until we visit the US.

Absolutely. I use regular Christmas linens for Christmas in July!

How long do you keep your decorations out for Christmas in July? we just do a week, well, a week and two weekends thanks to Christmas Crazy.

Actually our "christmas duvets" right now are hearts and roses which are also swedish christmas motifs and take us through february. changing out the duvet covers, or rather, getting new ones out of the linen cabinet and putting old ones up, is quite an ordeal (the cat tower is in front of what passes for cabinets in europe). That is why we came up with the reversible cover idea. 8 themes for 4 sets of linens. We also cannot have anything "too nice" because declawing is illegal in Europe. So, cotton blends are cheap enough and put up with a certain amount of clawing which is certainly no Christmas fun.

Declawing is ILLEGAL? Why? That baffles me that there is such a law.
I found one of our cats Christmas toy mice under the couch the other night.
Gave it to them and they went nuts with it. Gotta love catnip.

For the most part they are good cats and confine their clawing to the cat tree in the hall, in front of the linen closet (Swedish apartments are also SMALL). But they do "knead" the duvets and sometimes us when they are settling in for the night.........to them, every day is Christmas!

Hi everyone ,so lovely reading your Christmas posts . Trip getting near now ,i leave on the 27th January and its lots of Trains ,plains and Automobiles !!! Well not trains ,coaches as we say in the North of England for busses . Hubby left for Germany again today for work but the good news is if he can find reasonable tickets he'll fly to Spain to be with us there from Germany My friend who does cross -stitch made me a lovely christmas cushion for the tree which says Joy to the world I spied on her tree though a lovely teddy which she;d made out of a holly patterned material so im encouraging her to start from now to make some for xmas and sell them . I really want that teddy ,its super cute . Blessings to you all and please keep my travel in your prayers as its alot of connections and my daughters too ,she leaves on the 4th of Febuary . Last week i started teaching at the bible study ,its the first time that ill be leading and it went so well that my friend has started the study at home with her hubby who loved it . I need wisdom now though as when i leave i want one of the ladies to fill in while im away but i know God has it all in hand Blessings xxxx

well, our visions of reversible duvet covers have been dashed by the "closing" of the cloth shop to "private persons". We were quite miffed not only because of the duvet covers but also because that is where we buy "period" fabrics for our SCa wear (medieval). So, we are on the hunt for a new cloth shop. Even in Stockholm, they are hard to find these days. I was as depressed as a kid who only got coal for Christmas.

Thank you for the kind words of encouragement about the job. Today we celebrated my father's birthday. It is hard to believe that just a year from now he will be retired. I am so happy for him! This entire year could feel like Christmas for him!!

Tomorrow we celebrate my nephew's 4th birthday. He is such a great little guy!! It is a bowling party!!! Goodnight for now. Love and Christmas blessings to you all.

Here in the Arizona southwest it is very difficult to find fabric -- except for Hobby Lobby. YAY! So I understand your frustration. You may have to order online for Christmas themes. Your kitties remind me of mine. Nothing is acceptable in the house until they knead it to perfection!

This funky virus has turned our days/nights all around. We excel at sleeping -- whether watching tv on the chair/couch or just 'resting'. Oh, well.........it wil pass just as Christmas comes again in 2014!

I found some cute easter fabric on ebay, but it would be $80 including shipping! My cousin in Belgium said she gets her fabric from ebay or Rotterdam. We wound up ordering nice spring duvet covers from a department store and found some cute stars and stripes ones on tradera (swedish ebay) for "summer", but the dream of making our own reversible holiday ones is now on hold. It was just an idea, but one I was looking forward to seeing it come to fruition. There is a huge sewing convention in Stockholm Feb 14-16. We do not usually go, but many of our medieval friends do, so we might. It could be just as much fun as Christmas!

addition: Then again, I have paid $100 to get melmac dishes sent to sweden. And we have enjoyed the immensly (sp) and every Octover and November since, I am glad we did. So, money is relative to future enjoyment.

The snow is falling and the weekend comes to a close. I hope everyone had a restful and fun time! I had a blast bowling this afternoon with my 4 year old nephew! The family gathering made it feel like a continuation of Christmas...and the beautiful snow didn't hurt either.
