Good Sunday Morning Christmas friends! Yesterday was busy moving stuff from the downstairs storage to the storage at the new place. Today the "vultures" come to see the current apartment. I really do not like this system of having to show your own place. We have to pay double rent for 3 months whether someone takes it or not, so we really do not care what they think. Perky has to check on the electricity at the new place. So far we have bought a new couch, and will need to buy a free standing fridge and probably a new kitchen table. The new fridge is less than half size as in a small top half and wooden shelves on the bottom, no freezer like we have now. It is just enough for beer and alcohol so Perky is calling it the "party fridge". A nice "extra" but not practical as your main fridge. I do not like the way these unexpected expenses are adding up, but thankfully God provided in advance. After the double rent period we will have a good chance to save some money back up for a US vacation if Perky´s visa is EVER approved. Had our celebration dinner for Perky´s full time contract yesterday. Woohoo!

watching christmas trailers on YouTube. This looks cheesy but cute. Ran into the title on a "beach christmas" search on ebay yesterday. Longing for Christmas in July.....well, the fun, not the heat.

This week I am planning on building a few cabinets to enclose the electrical box and our tankless hot water system on the walls in my finished basement. I need to look up some plans first, but then can use my compound mitre saw which I purchased using Christmas money. Wish me luck! :gbhouse:

just checking in with my Christmas friends. Tonight will be the first night we can officially move stuff into the apartment. WE will probably just go take a look at the new kitchen cabinets and see how the cleaners did. On Saturday, we will go buy a fridge and hope it can be delivered on tuesday, the same day the couch is coming. We have taken tuesday off from work and can move some small stuff while we wait. Our goal is to have everything moved over by April 12 and celebrate Easter in the new place. Then that gives us a couple of weeks to clean out the old place. someone just walked down the hall at work whistling "deck the halls".....hm....someone has the christmas spirit........ :opengifts: :santagifts:

Merry Friday Christmas! Well, as of last night they had not put in the security door, for which we pay an extra 129 SEK per month, nor had they finished the kitchen. It does, however, have electricity! We will have another look on Saturday to see if it is done. The couch and hopefully the new fridge are coming tuesday no matter what. Yikes! Meanwhile, hubby has unfortunately gotten my cold. Praying for a quick recovery.

I just paid $117 to have strawberry themed melamine dishes sent to Sweden for MidSummer! Good thing my husband loves me. I hope they get here before we have to change the address too. Forget furs and diamonds, just give me plastic dishes! There are a few people who call MidSummer "little christmas" since families get together more then and often exchange gifts since they do not see each other at Christmas. :shop:

I think Bing Crosby sang a song about MidSummer.
