I hope they mix some Thanksgiving Movies in with their Christmas Movie Marathon. I LOVED The Thanksgiving House!

I agree! I love the fall season. It leads to Christmas!

In the US, October was my second favorite TV month. That is the time for Harry Potter and all the family Halloween movies. I miss Halloweentown, those were some really cute movies. Then comes Thanksgiving, then comes Christmas!

okay back again...busy busy busy....
kids are back to school...including our baby boy starting kindergarten this year...which means my wife is back to work at a new job teaching a preschool. so thankfully all that is going well and went with out any hiccups.

wife was away this past weekend at the women of faith conference in philly....so i had kid duty (thank God they were all well behaved as usual)
this thursday i head to Delmarva Bike week with my club and a few friends and then after that it's nothing but straight to holiday season...planning costumes for our church's fall harvest trunk treat party. then deciding on where we are going for thanksgiving (my folks, her folks, stay at home, etc) and start decorating for christmas...i like the trees and my christmas village to be up by thanksgiving morning so it can be on while we watch the thanksgiving day parade(man i love the parade...i think i'll watch some old clips of it on the internet today at work...good idea (-8 )
started getting together christmas shopping lists this week...nothing formal or official but putting some thought into each person....will start putting stuff down on paper with the wife next week i think...of course not sure which direction to go with the wife this year...thinking of finishing up her tattoo sleeve or getting her a new wedding ring - she lost her old one! she'd be more surprised at the ring but probably wants the tattoos more lolol

Michelle and I have started talking about and making plans for the fall season. We're skipping some of the early fall festivals this year to save money so we can visit our son who is working at Toyota in Indiana (October). We've decided to make pumpkin bread this year (early November). Didn't make any last year *bummer*. It is soooo good. This year will be the first time I don't have the entire week off from work for Thanksgiving *another bummer*. But I think it will make it more special this way. I will put up the Christmas tree right after the Thanksgiving meal again this year while Michelle decorates the rest of the house. Then the kids and I will head outside and decorate the exterior. I'm getting more and more excited as I type this.
79 days till Thanksgiving. 107 days till Christmas.

Well, gotta get back to work. Everyone have a blessed day!

Question: Is anyone going to buy themselves a Christmas present this year?
If so, have you already decided what it will be?

I probably will not buy one for myself this year. Well, maybe something small, like some new clothes.

Lovely to read everyone's cheery holiday thoughts. Here - it is not feeling like Christmas. We are moving back in the house to begin clean up. Again. Next week we may get to do this all over again. The feds won't declare Phoenix a possible flood zone so we are not eligible for flood insurance. If you saw the pictures of our two largest freeways on Monday they were completely flooded. Looked like a lake with flooded vehicles bouncing around to the waves. We'll be very busy so may not be able to post more for a few days.

Keep up the Christmas cheer! And Christmas Crazy - hint! - I love banana bread!

Oooh! I love banana bread and Hawaiian bread is a favorite too.
What kind of bread would be considered "Christmas bread"?

And I did see the news. The flooding caught a lot of people by surprise.
I hope you and your family will have things back to normal soon.
Praying Christmas sized blessings for you all.

I really enjoyed the Riverwalk when I was stationed at Fort Sam Houston for 3 months. I arrived there in February, so the Christmas decorations were no longer up. I bet it is beautiful at Christmas time.

Remembering this sad day with all my Christmas friends. Stuck at work and watching youtube tributes. I hope to get home in time to see some of the remembrance ceremony online.

Yes. We remember those who sacrificed all and gave up the rest of their Christmases forever.
