Today is the day, my living room starts its gradual transformation into a winter wonderland. That's right, my tree goes up today and any decorations. I know some people think it is way to early but living in a house with 2 autistic children who, once November gets here and school is out of schedule, their day to day will be out of schedule, doesn't need to have the "safe place" going through a major change as well, we have been doing this for eight years and it has made everyone happy in my home and it has actually given my children more of the true Christmas perspective, they worry about others, know that we celebrate the birth of the risen Savior, and just enjoy spending time with family. So to everyone out there, Merry Christmas and I hope everyone has a great day. :smilecc: :smilecc: :smilecc:

Well, the youngest and most severe ASD child seen the Christmas Tree box and knew what it meant and was so excited, he kept asking me, "you put up the tree", so I finally had to and he is so full of Christmas spirit now the wife and I can't believe it. We went years just trying to get him to tell us what he wants for Christmas, we would usually just get "toys" or "presents" out of him, today we asked him what he wants and he had a list, so hopefully that means that what we have been doing is working and the slow transformation to Christmas is helping, but don't worry about the other holidays, he also let me know that for Halloween he wants to be an army man. :smilecc:

Sounds like you have a working system. I know other families who do not "do" Christmas because it is too disruptive for their children. I think your way is more fun. :scene:

I have a half day class in "e-beställning" today. That is online purchasing, in Swedish. I wonder how much of White Christmas I really do have memorized and can watch in my head during the course....................

a Friend of mine asked me to draw her up an "A Christmas Story" Tattoo

so this is what i did for her.

i told her when she takes it to her artist to make the leg alot bigger so it's a center piece of the tattoo and not just a small item in the center.

thought some of you would enjoy this image.
