Yikes! 10 days until Swedish thanksgiving! We will probably have a simple dinner this year since we are cooking Thanksgiving for the family in Texas and Christmas for the family in Norrland.

I agree with him. Halloween starts on Oct 1. Actually I have been wearing Halloween socks since September since I could not find my regular socks after the Swedish heatwave finally broke. Halloween was my second favorite tv month after Christmas.
I have enough DVD's to have an all month marathon but now that we are both working we are old and go to bed at 9 pm. I would like to say to read, but that is not always the case. LOL

Target has a Black Friday/Cyber Monday section on their web site.
Oh the pressures of holiday sales. I'm glad I don't work in retail.

I rarely miss working retail. It is tough to enjoy Christmas when you do that.

it was nice working retail, when i used to run the shipping and receiving section of the store i was in. quick story

the store had a no questions asked return policy...if you had the receipt you got back wht you paid no matter what...if you didn't you got back in store credit the current selling price.

so people started taking advantage of that and returning year old shoes they'd worn for a year and getting store credit on new shoes...so what they did is they'd start liberally marking the prices down when shoes were out for 8 or 9 months they'd drop them from say 99 dollars to 79 then in 2 more months drop them to 59 then to 39 then to 19 and once they thouhght they were sold out they'd sell them at 7.99 or something cheap like that. so working in shipping and receiving i had access to the entire store chain invetory and could find out when things were marked down to super low prices some things i got were multiple pairs of nike hockey roller blades originally 339.99 for 30 bucks (4 of my frieneds and myself got pairs) new balance running sneakers for 19 bucks usually 119.99 and a bunch of other things but they were the best deals i found.

also liked when they would do the friends and family coworkers night were they'd close down the store on a sunday evening at 6pm and give all employees and their family an additional 20% off everything in the store so our original 10% discount plus another 20% on top of that. this was usually 2-3 weeks before christmas

Merry Friday Christmas! Another disputation day, which is great for the department and tough for the Christmas elves. Hubby and I are also getting our whooping cough and flu shots today for the US trip. too much Christmas fun!
