94? Humid? YUK!
It was 77, sunny, and beautiful here today.
But I'm still dreaming of a white Christmas.

I am afeared that will be the temps in San Antonio during our Pre-Christmas visit. Had my "development discussion" at work today. The Prefekt told me "I am a keeper". Nice to know I am feeling more at home here at the North Pole. almost as good as waking up on Christmas morning.

Congrats! On hour great review Jolly! And yes the southwest is predicted to have above-normal temps through the end of the year.

Just think when you go back to Sweden from Texas the cold will feel refreshing. :snowwow:

no kidding, then we go further North to Örkoldsvik for Christmas. It will be as much of a shock as when I came from 100F to 40F that first Midsummer.

Happy Tuesday to all CAYer's

I have been lucky enough to get an early Christmas present this year, and it is called a gout flare up. I do not like this gift and it can go away at any time, I am not going to be upset. In other news we have a local theater that does a festival of trees every year and this year we have submitted out church youth group to donate a tree. The kids seem to be excited, but of course it could also be the theme we chose which is "Ol' Tetris Tree". We will be spending the next few Wednesdays and Sunday evenings gluing Lego's together to form Tetris pieces but it will be fun for them all the proceeds from the tree sales go toward local charities. :smilecc:

Christmas is getting so close. But nobody around me seems to realize it.
Nobody is talking about it. Nobody is preparing.
We are only 63 days away from Christmas day and only 35 days till Thanksgiving.
I don't have time to prepare! This year has gone by so fast.

Oh my that does look like too much Christmas fun! There is one Christmas all year store I definitely want to go to, if it is still there. I am quite sure as we are there for a week and a half after Thanksgiving that Christmas will be in full swing.

okay so this saturday is my official - unofficial start of the christmas holiday season for me and my family.

two things happen that make me go 100% into chrismtas season mode...

1st - on Nov 2nd at 2am the music channel on TV "sounds of the Season" starts playing christmas music...that is my point where i start publically playing christmas music myself B-)

2nd the first saturday in Nov a local church does an auction/ rummage sale every year. and my family always goes to it and we make a pretty big deal about it. well this year it's on the 1st so it's early this year....which means i might have to start playing christmas music a day early this year!

so who has started christmas shopping?

traditionally i like shopping later but the wife and i came across some deals for the kids that we couldn't pass up.

so we have started really early this year.

when i was single there were years i didn't even start shopping until the 23rd.

one year i did 90% of my shopping on christmas eve (man were there some great sales that year)

bought, wrapped and given in one day

enjoy your Christmas prep. We have been shopping because we leave Nov. 15 and needed Christmas presents to take with us. We will also be buying presents there to bring back for Swedish family. Normally we do not buy much and usually online. Debating about changing the linens this coming Saturday as it will be the last chance before we leave.
