Michelle has been having a lot of trouble sleeping in this warm weather also.
It was 98 and very humid here today. Oh how I'm longing for a white Christmas right now.

Had a great day with Perky touring the Jumbo Jet hostel and having lunch on board. I was expecting boring airplane food, but it was gourmet! We bought a few souvenirs and look forward to returning for a night. It was almost as much fun as Christmas.

Staycations are fun.

Today's staycation includes top to bottom cleaning of the bathroom. I told Perky we could put on bathing suits and pretend we were at the beach. Since we are both extremely White skinned, I do not tan, and Perky has his T virus again, so we do not get much sun otherwise. The irony is that it is 59F outside. We might have to Close the bathroom window so we don't freeze like at Christmas!

Did our Midsummer shopping tonight. I bought some Ben and Jerry's "Half" Baked Icecream to save for Thursday's "Half Christmas" aka Leon Day Celebration. I told Perky that I would explain later. I got it tonight because I may not remember during the week and bringing ice Cream home on the bus in summer might not Always be a good idea. I saw on amazon that the "Half Christmas" flavor from The Workaholics is hazelnut. Having looked up the show online I don't Think it is something I would enjoy, but was thinking of picking up a sample pack of hazelnut coffee to go with the ice Cream for our Half Christmas mini celebration. :scene:

Anyone else have any ideas? If I was in Texas, I would get half a bundt cake from the grocery store. Pretty useless here as cakes are usually made in what you would call a bread pan or else they are made in spring form pans. :dinner: :balloons: :gbhouse:

Our kiddos don't get Leon Day so we don't do much as family. My DH & I love a half sundae before bed. It was his idea.....lol! Love the odes of Christmas Hal baked ice cream Jolly.

The half sundae idea sounds too Christmas cute. But how do you make half a sundae? Since we named it Leon day as well to me it is like a name day in Sweden . There are also a lot of half birthday blogs on the net. I read one once by someone who was a twin, she would send her twin half of a pair of something, sock, shoe, earring etc for their half birthday. Will that to Perky one year, then give him the other half for Christmas in July.

I can understand the kids confusion, also nice to have a little Christmas just for yourselves. :scene:

Today is Midsummerafton, Midsummer Eve, in Sweden. It is like a summer Christmas because most people are on vacation and travel is easier so families are more likely to get together. sometimes birthday and Christmas gifts are exchanged as it might be the only time extended families get together. I checked IKEA US too late to alert people. The Texas store did their celebration last week.

Just had Midsummer dinner on the balcony. Even though the kitchen thermometer says 57F on the other side of the apartment in the sun it felt more like Christmas in July.
