Charity Shop Finds

Postby Merry Sage » Mon Jun 09, 2008 9:57 am

I don't know if anyone here is a fan of charity shops for great finds. Get almost all my paperbacks from them and some hardcover books. After I've read them, I send them back so the shop can resell them. I've also been fortunate to discover a number of really nice Christmas oranments etc.. at several shops in my area.

Today I found a gorgeous oversized Disney cup and saucer with Pooh and friends around an outdoor Christmas tree. Perfect size for a big helping of hot choc or cocoa on a frosty day! Cost £2, value to me unlimited! I'm happy to add it to my small, but growing collection of Seasonal items.

So cute - flea markets, charity shops, consignment stores, any place you find that perfect gift for someone is the best place to shop!! :D

This evening a gal pal of mine went to Goodwill to drop off some items before we shared dinner together. I found a very very old Christmas tin with a hinged lid! It has the victorian Santa Claus on the top!!! :jump:

Charity shops, thrift stores, yard sales. I love them all. I love it when I find Christmas decorations there.

Yes, and I always wonder whose hands held these items last, and what wonderful stories they have to tell! :flake:

Congrats! That is one nice cup and saucer. I love consignment stores and would highly suggest everyone to check them out every once in a while for great savings! :snowhappy:

How's it looking in the second hand/charity shops in your area? If you can believe it, the ones round here are suffering because of the recession. Donations are way down and what there is available isn't much.

I'm sorry to see this happening as the shops are a big source of income for the charities.
