Greetings Christmas Friend! What is Bonfire Night?

My family always celebrates Bonfire Night in the midwest/south. Originally it was an English custom - but the Germans also have a similar tradition. Both sides of my extended family came together for the Nov 5 traditional date for us to build a huge bonfire, sing Christmas carols, roast marshmallows and enjoy a mini-family reunion. Since family travels at Thanksgiving & Christmas time many family members celerbated the event in their own town. Then at Christmas we shared the pictures. It's a pleasant stop on the road to Christmas.

Ah, interesting, I did not know this was celebrated outside of England. Interesting though to wonder if historians don't have it backwards. That Guy Fawkes might have used the traditional bonfire night fires as cover for his illicit activities. Either way, it sounds like a nice time to get in the Christmas spirit. Sharing pictures at Christmas sounds like great fun!

Charlie Brown Halloween!! I will have to look for it online. I missed it because I was in a class. It was Christmassy this past weekend as the snow fell. Back to the 50's today.

Watching the Hallmark Movie Autumn Dreams on YouTube. It is too Christmas cute. I was never one to fall in love with main characters, I am in love with the chauffer. He looks like Perky who is as cute as a Christmas elf.

Insomnia kept me up since before 3am and my "to do" list is longer than my arm. I'm thinking of listening to Christmas ccarols and going back to bed. Wonder how that will turn out?
