Yes the anticipation as a child was exhilarating waiting for Christmas movies/specials. :smilecc:

I remember having to wait for it to come on one of the three channels we had. Now it is a must watch Christmas show every year along with these others. So many childhood memories/feelings are linked to these shows.

But, I am very thankful that I'm able to receive such great dental care. Many go without.

Veterans it's your day! One day is insufficient to say thank you for your service and sacrifice for the good of our country. Thank you and God Bless!

Have a great Wednesday Christmas friends! :smilecc:

Hope all my Christmas friends had a nice meaningful Veteran's day. I enjoy watching the Arlington ceremony on YouTUbe. Sometimes there are blips from our local ceremony in San Antonio on YouTube. Nothing yet, but you never know. We were going to make the post war "creamed beef" otherwise known as SOS last night, but we wound up going out. Thinking of having a "retro" inspired dinner this weekend of peanut butter stuffed celery sticks, SOS, and bread pudding for dessert. A post Veteran's Day celebration as we undecorated for Thanskgiving and start to get ready for Christmas! **==

That is my patriotic bread pudding recipe. I am not fond of the cream cheese, but have not thought of a substitute yet. It is almost as fun as Christmas.

Yes, I have been wondering about using red and green cherries, nice Christmas colors.

Green cherries would be very Christmasy, but I've never heard of them.

Green cherries come in jars in the US along with the red cherries. I used to make a "Mexican" Christmas bread in the bread machine to give out as Christmas gifts using them. NOt sure what made it "Mexican" but it was cute.

Cute Christmas bread using red and green cherries. I am quite sure the green ones are not natural and probably not very good for us by today's standards. We have a bread machine here at the North Pole, but I have never used it.

No they are made in a gross manner. They use vinegar & chemicals to bleach out the red color. Then they dye them green. Once I learned that fact I quit using them at Christmas. :|
