Oh, I hope so CandyKane! As you know well know it is my favorite charity. I am already putting aside funds to begin shopping for next Christmas' boxes! Do you shop early too? :smilecc:

This was a very quiet Sunday at our house. All I have done is basically rest and nap. We must have hit our Christmas summit point on energy.

Christmas Crazy, I have found a few Christmas woodworking projects that I am going to dive into- a toboggan that I will hang on the wall in my basement and a Santa sleigh and reindeer for the front yard. When I did some plans, I will post them.

Here is the design for the small sled: http://www.fynesdesigns.com/diy-vintage-sled/

And here are the sleigh plans: http://www.ana-white.com/2012/11/plans/wood-sleigh

I am thinking that's I would make the sleigh a little bigger though. What do you think? I like the idea of having Christmas projects throughout the year that will also help me learn some new skills for a fun new hobby! :gbhouse:

Your Christmas projects are fabulous Kiwi. It's a great idea to break up Christmas projects and work on little pieces at a time. It keeps the Spirit and anticipation alive all year. :smilecc:

What a great idea for next Christmas. That will be a memory that will last a lifetime for the whole family.

What is the national holiday Wednesday in Sweden? Nice you have a day off Jolly before registration begins Thursday. It makes me sad that Christmas is over too. :snowwow:

Ephiphany. Though Sweden is a very secular country, I like that the holidays (for now) follow the church calendar. It makes going to church for those of us who do go, much easier. Tomorrow I will make Twelfth Night Scones and black eyes pea salsa/relish to go with our pork tenderloin dinner. Sometimes I make the "southern" new year's day dinner on 1 January, sometimes I make it just anytime during the month. This year we went out to dinner and a movie with a neighbor on 1 January. As a side note, Russia and the Orthdox churches celebrate Christmas on 7 January as they go by the older Julian (?) calendar. January 13 is also "St. Knut's Day" and the official end of Christmas. I wish we got a day off for that, but sadly no, though many will be strangely "absent" that day.

Thanks Jolly. I learn so much from you about Sweden & Swedish customs. Be sure to tell Perky you're a good teacher too.

Good Twelfth NIght to my Christmas friends! I found this Little gem on YouTube when I was looking for something to Watch while baking my Twelfth Night Scones.

http://www.food.com/recipe/twelfth-night-scones-458584

Since Jan 5 & 6 are generally holidays, I usually have time to make them and they have become "tradition". Next up is my black eyed pea salsa/relish to have tomorrow with the pork filé. According to this mornings Swedish tv, chicken is common for Ephiphany because one is sick of meatballs and Prince sausage. Perky made a pizza last night out of christmas leftovers. It was quite delicious. The post Chrismtas pizza has also been on tv. :dinner:
