Christmas 2016

We've been watching some episodes of Grizzly Adams on YouTube. I love introducing my dd to old shows that I grew up watching. We just finished watching The Storm episode. It's as close to a Christmas one as they had.

Just got word that Perky's eye surgery (cataract) will be Friday at 8:30 a.m. Pray for quick easy and no complications (the lens is attached to the retina). He might have to spend the weekend watching /listening to Christmas movies. Downside: cruise cancelled, but we shall book again! The company was really nice. Having had sudden illness cause us to miss two cruises with no refunds, I now always buy the insurance We are at "that age"................sigh.

Perky is in our prayers. Wise choice to invest in the cruise I insurance going forward. Let's not talk about "Thatcher" as we're there too. To quote Rudolph "it doesn't feel very Christmasy!"

:snowday: Yup, it's a snow day! We didn't get a lot, but it's enough to make it look like a beautiful Christmas card outside.

After Christmas a snow day is the next best event. Enjoy!

Well it has been a quiet MLK day. After volunteering to cover for another nurse after church yesterday my DH took the family out for the day. So many events to teach them about MLK. I slept all day. Santa probably put me on the Christmas naughty list for that one.

Well it has been a quiet MLK day. After volunteering to cover for another nurse after church yesterday my DH took the family out for the day. So many events to teach them about MLK. I slept all day. Santa probably put me on the Christmas naughty list for that one.

When you need your rest, you need your rest. Christmas and other holidays are great for catching up on sleep.

I feel the same way with my kids and the shows I watched growing up. I received a late Christmas surprise while playing a game with my youngest daughter and finding out that she actually knows who Woody Woodpecker is.

I had to use youtube to teach kiddos about Woody; Porky & gang & Roadrunner. I still can't believe Saturday morning cartoons are passe. Great parenting ksrjreed.

Perky had a late meeting and I was in bed and ready for sleep at 8 a.m. The spring term is no Christmas fun! Got word yesterday that our international applicants are more than doubled from last year and evaluations start soon! Christmas fun fun fun.

Thanks for the prayers for Perky on Friday. It is a relatively routine thing these days but I am nervous about being the one responsible for getting him home. It is at these times that I am reminded we have not secondary support. I will take my mp3 and mp4 which are still loaded with Christmas music for the 3-4 hour wait.

It is a joy to pray for you & Perky. I know what it's like to not have secondary support. You are Perky's rock & will do just fine. Listening to Christmas tunes always encourages us.

Where does the time go? Christmas was almost a month ago and I feel like I'm still trying to get into the swing of things. Sometimes it feels like life is passing me by.
