England is a bit of a strange country, weather-wise. Well, more than weather-wise, but we won't go there today.
Despite being on the same latitude as Newfoundland, winter here is very mild. Temps seldom go much below freezing, even in the north. You have to go to the extreme north of Scotland to get really North American feeling winter. Having said that, its scary how quickly you acclimatise to the milder temps and can easily find them cold.
Summer, at least in Central England where we are now, is nothing write home about. If its going to be wet and miserable, this is the part of the country thats going to get it. 2007 was the wettest in 60 years with widespread flooding. However, we're moving to the southwest coast ie: Dorset, in the next few months! Thank goodness! I despise living inland. Its grimy and grey and the people are miserable. Nothing beats coastal living and it wasn't until we moved here that I didn't live near the ocean. Can't wait!
And thats quite enough from me. Spring is struggling in. Wet and mildish, temps around 10C.
