In a strange twist of the calendar, Christmas meets Easter today on Good Friday as it is also "waffle day" in Sweden, which is on the traditional date of the Annunciation of our Lord. We had the liturgical celebration of Annunciation on one of the Sundays in Lent.
Wishing all my Christmas friends a blessed Good Friday. I have read that in times past there was nothing open, no tv broadcasts, and the only Music on the radio was "funeral Music". Each Lent in the Swedish Church, a different gospel is read and emphasized. This is the year of Matthew. Perky's birthday is on April 12, but in the year he was born, that date was Good Friday or Long Friday in Swedish. I am sure his mother would agree that was indeed a "long" friday.
