Merry Sunday Christmas all!

Michelle and I just got back from our anniversary trip to Charleston. We had such a great time. I hope everyone is doing well. I gotta go back thru the thread and see what I've missed.

Happy Tuesday Christmas friends! Turns out Perky is off on Thursday and Friday, so it's a short work week here at the North Pole. Thanks to taxes and cat sitting for the neighbor, we can't plan a quick getaway, but that's okay, there is always Christmas movies!

TODAY it will be 98F and triple digits on Wednesday. Certainly makes me homesick for Christmas cold weather.

So far, Ascension is still a holiday at the North Pole and Friday is considered a "klämdag", loosely translated as "in between day", meaning the day in between a holiday and the weekend. In most places, one can usually take the day as unpaid, vacation, or using overtime. As Perky works for a Muslim school, it was uncertain if they would take the day or not. The parents complained about the Easter holidays, so I was a bit surprised. He did not find out until this week. In year's past, we have taken a cruise. Our "church duty" is done at 8 am on Thursday, then we are "free". The local church has a service and early picnic at the local castle on the Baltic Sea coast. Then we are "free". We will most likely go home and crash and then take care of some chores. We will probably have a second picnic at the cemetery later in the weekend. It is not as morbid as it sounds. The cemeteries are like parks and when we go take care of his parent's grave garden and use the bus, it's a two hour ride. so it is like a day trip even though it is not that far as the crow flies. I will post pics on my facebook page later. We are also remaking a denim shirt for the June cruise and Perky the haberdasher has some work to do just like the elves before Christmas Eve.

We've actually hit a cool spell of highs around 60. It's still not bad but after several almost 90 degree days it's a bit of a shocker. But on the bright side, cool temps always bring thoughts of Christmas. :scene:

Wearing summer clothes today. Christmas is but a dim memory. This does not bode well for our summer temps. Something tell me it is going to be a very hot Christmas in July.

We have hit a cold spell in Southern Ohio. It is suppose to be in the mid to low 60's today with 50's tomorrow. The only downside to this are the severe storms we have been going through. It is sad to say but it was warmer for Christmas last year than it has been for the first week of May.

Anyway, stay safe in the heat Noel and remember with each passing hot day you are one day closer to Christmas. :smilecc:
