no i still havent got my christmas catalogs yet...hum...come on its time to order now..and no i dont get my tree up till day before Thanksgiving...since i dont have any help to do it.it takes me a few days..haha long hours.

You are ahead of me then. Our tree goes up the day after Thanksgiving and takes me a couple days to decorate it too.

Christmas Crazy should be back from his vacation tomorrow! Hopefully his vacation is winding down in grand style.

Out local KMart is now a combined store: a combination of KMart and Sears. It's a bit weird but am grateful it still is open. Evidently they sold so many clearance ittems they decided to keep it open til January at least. That makes for good Christmas bargains this year.

They are starting to play Christmas music here the day after Halloween. Remember when it used to be the day after Thanksgiving? Not sure how I feel about this......but I listen to Christmas carols whenever I am in the mood. Which is often!

Just finished celebrating Swedish thanksgiving, one week late. We had a "simple" dinner of turkey sausage, mashed sweet potatoes, stove top cranberry stuffing, brussel sprouts, and the last pumpkin tart from the freezer. To have been frozen for a year and made out of frozen mash from I don't know how many years Before that, it was GREAT! Perky asked me what I missed watching on tv besides the parade. I said "Miracle on 34th street", but it is too far away from Christmas for that. I might Watch Autumn in the Vineyard instead.

I listen to Christmas music and watch movies year round when I'm in the mood too. That doesn't necessarily mean I want the season to start in October. I like to see hints of Christmas. But I want to enjoy Halloween and Thanksgiving and then gets immersed in the joy of Christmas.

The Wizard of Oz has become really big for Thanksgiving viewing the last few years. Maybe you can find a special movie you both love and make it your Swedish Thanksgiving must watch. Miracle on 34th Street is one of my Christmas faves too.

We play around with the thanksgiving flavors of turkey, sweet potato, butternut, and lingon (cranberry) all month during oktober and november. I only have the energi to Cook one big turkey per year. I think we Will most likely Cook one in Texas for Thanksgiving. Last year we made à wartime murkey for Christmas.

I considered trying to find a Canadian thanskgiving Movie for Swedish thanksgiving since they take Place the same weekend, but when I checked the Canadian blogs, they Watch all the American "classics" like Planes, Train, Automobiles, etc. I watched a real Canadian thanskgiving Movie on youtube last year, but it was very sad and not sure I would want to Watch it every year. *Since I am technically still in Swedish bootcamp we wound up watching Scooby *Doo in Swedish on the children's tv channel. I could Think that in the future Love at the Thanksgiving Parade might be fun.

A few years ago we started having american thanksgiving on Swedish thanksgiving weekend so we could start decorating for Christmas at the beginning of November. It works out well except for the years we come to Texas for Thanksgiving. We have started putting up the Christmas curtains, rather than "fall" since we will return on November 30 unless we get hung up in Chicago.

When would you have the second one? Some People have thanksgiving for christmas Too. When I grew up, we did except we had both turkey and ham at christmas. Thosenwere the days.
