My back is doing really well. Absolutely NO pain. I'm able to sleep thru the night (as long as I don't have to go to the bathroom  ). I have my first post-op appointment with my back surgeon January 12. Hopefully he'll let me go back to work soon.

Thank you again for all the prayers my Christmas friends. You're the best. :smilecc:

Awesome news Christmas Crazy!! :D

We lost all WiFi and power for over an hour when I was posting earlier. A neighbor messed with the electric power lines while taking down his Christmas lights. Scary proposition...glad all are safe.

[bNew Year = New Do. Yesterday I had my pre-Christmas long hair cut short into a pixie style. My hair needs training in the new style, after decades of long straight hair. I used up my Christmas courage to shear my locks. Time to venture forward into 2017. :shop: ][/b]

I have excuses - er, reasons - for postponing in taking down our Christmas decorations. They are:

1. I need to finish the 12 days of Cristmas first,
2. My decor is more 'winter' than Christmas: snow, ice, greens, snow families, and animals of all sorts in the snow.
3. The batteries are stil working in the wreaths, garlands and fdecorations. When the batteries die then I can take down the decorations.

I have more if you ever want to borrow one. :D

Here's one more: In Sweden Christmas is celebrated until 13 January-St. Knut's day. I have also read that in the middle ages the greenery was left up until Groundhog day, or Candlemass. To leave it up after Candlemass was considered bad luck. I will probably start putting little things away, but most of it will stay up until the weekend of the 14-15. My mother used to leave the nativity set out until easter.

New Years are wonderful for giving us the courage for change. And a little change is good for our Christmas souls. It keeps everything fresh and new. Noel I'm sure you are lovely sporting your new do. :angelsnow:

I had also considering leaving the snowmen out until Trollvinter (sports break) in February. It is almost as much fun as Christmas.

I got less Christmas cards this year than I've ever gotten. Another lost art I suppose. :| :holly1:

One of my new favorite things.....the outdoor Christmas projection lights. I'm buying more this year. I still have mine up and turned them on last night. The lights looked really cool in the fog. :D

Yes it is a dying art. Even in my family this year. I refuge to let the Scrooge spirit touch my Christmas. Instead I bought a new box of cards for 2017. :singing:

I am hoping to get some of those Christmas projection lights for a large evergreen tree in the front yard. Does anyone have any favorite brand?
