We have gotten a few inches of snow here in VT this evening. Is is so quiet and magical. It reminds me of Christmas!!! That and some Chinese food for dinner have made it a perfect evening!

Tonight I attended a 40th birthday party for a cousin that I am close with. It was nice having a big family dinner and doing some bowling afterwards. It was just like Christmas having everyone together... laughing, playing, and just enjoying each other's company.

I had a wonderful day today starting with a family pancake breakfast. My brother and his wife were up for the weekend (for my cousin's birthday party yesterday) from Connecticut. My youngest brother, his wife, and my 22 month old niece were there as well. Dad made the pancakes! Great family fun and bourbon maple syrup to boot!

Later in the day, my wife and I went for a walk in the town forest. It was quiet and peaceful...especially with the snow! When I was in high school I worked on the land that became the town forest when it was a Christmas tree farm and planted a lot of the trees that are now 20-30+ feet tall! It is easy to keep Christmas in your heart on days like these.

As we move into another month, I hope everyone takes some time to appreciate their time with the ones they love. Take time for yourself and disconnect from work, stress, the news, etc. Find the things, like Christmas, that make you happy and immerse yourself in them for a while. Take a mental vacation!
