I'm so excited that today has finally arrived. My oldest son got to our house late last night and my other son will be here late this morning. It's been a while since we've all been together at the same time. And Michelle's parents will be coming in early this afternoon. It's going to be a fun time at our house. And a FULL house to boot.

Make a turkey and celebrate Swedish Thanksgiving! Actually swedes don't have any special food culture for thanksgiving, it has only been around since the 80's. We usually have turkey or chicken. It's a good excuse to have all the flavors of Thanksgiving and Christmas.

We decided on turkey sausage. It is tube shaped in a half circle and you slice partway down. Then I'll put slices of sweet potatoe in between and cover it with lingon jam and cranberries. I also bought Apricot preserves and we have some apple sauce that needs using. My mother sent a box of wheat stove top stuffing I have been avoiding using, but it's the last box, so we might as well try it. Add green beans and we will be done. I'll post pics on facebook. Makes me look forward even more to Christmas!

Just 11 Weeks until Christmas!!

Yesterday evening, I had a glorious Christmas-like surprise arrive at my door. First, a huge 5ft tall box, that I wondered if it was a small Christmas tree from someone who knows me. As I was opening the box, I discovered a very large, elegant,orange cicideum orchid!! Perfect for Autumn decorating. Then my doorbell rang only to find 3 of my favorite cousins at the door. They each traveled quite a distance to surprise me. Due to schedules, they missed last Friday but decided on last night. One lives in Indianapolis and Atlanta; one in the Keys, Florida; and one in Juneau, Alaska! We had a wonderful time reminiscing, celebrating, and talking about Christmas too. Today we are driving up north to the cool pines and treating ourselves to ice cream at every stop!
What a joy life can be at the most unexpected times!!
