The Christmas Tree that usually sits in front of the Alamo at Christmastime will be moving to Travis Park. San Antonio announced the change Friday. The plan is to turn Travis Park into a winter wonderland. The move will combine the tree lighting and the lighting of Travis Park... where a lot of new holiday activities are planned this year.
Jolly, have you ever been to the tree lighting at the Alamo?
What's your thoughts on this? Good thing or bad thing?
We had planned on going to the Christmas lighting on a previous trip. However, I was not feel well so we went to the hotel which was further away from the "action" than I thought. The new location is most likley the hole left by the confederate monument they just removed. My guess is the city is trying to appease those upset by promoting Christmas spirit. It is worth seeing, the parade is on tv (unless you are in a hotel on the river walk. That was an unwelcome Christmas suprise).
