"Christmas with the Kranks" (2004).

Postby Joanna » Thu Apr 24, 2008 4:53 pm

When their only daughter Blair leaves the family nest, Luther and Nora Krank (Tim Allen and Jamie Lee Curtis) decide to book an island cruise to beat the yuletide blues and just skip the holidays. But their decision to boycott tradition has the whole neighborhood in an uproar, and when Blair callson Christmas Eve to announce a surprise visit with her new fiancée, the Kranks have just twelve hours to perform a miracle and pull themselves and their neighbors together to throw the best celebration ever.

I rate this film GOOD. I prefer Tim Allen in his Home Improvement Christmas epis -- the film was based on one of those plots. But its a fun watch! :smilecc:

Not one of my faves. I think I was really expecting too much from it. Lots of expectations from Tim Allen and Jamie Lee Curtis. The book is a bit different too. I didn't like the way the husband/dad was treated. Overall though I'd watch it again - every Christmas. Lots of funny parts and laughter.

My mom hates this movie...I really don't get why. Last Christmas I watched it around 6 times. To me, it'll never get old. :D

The film was based on the book Skipping Christmas by none other than John Grisham and is almost word for word the same as the script. Great book, but the movie was hilarious.

I enjoy watching this movie as well. It's warm & fuzzy, yet funny at the same time. It's sure to become a classic in its own right.
Christmas is the most magical time of the year.
