Just stopping by for a quick Christmas hi! Had a great vacation with Perky and seeing my "swedish family". Now catching up on work.........this weekend is Midsummer which some in Sweden call "Summer Christmas" since families do not usually get together over long distances in winter. We are looking forward to Leon Day on Monday, then Christmas in July, then the Christmas in August trip to the Ice Hotel. Woohoo!

I have a memory that is my favorite Christmas story. When my little and only brother (two years younger) and I were about 8 years old, we snuck downstairs after mom and dad went to bed on the night we decorated the Christmas tree. We plugged it in, sat down at the base of it, and just marveled at its beauty. We did that for many years. It's a dear memory I will hold in my heart forever.

My favorite memory - story -
One Christmas - Dad was in the USMC - I cracked my bedroom window to let in the crisp cold winter air, watch the snowflakes pile up on the window sill as Christmas lights reflected onto the snow. I was peeping out the window listening for Santa's voice, or reindeer paws, or Rudy's red nose glare but fell asleep. I awoke on the floor thinking I heard Santa's voice as he spread gifts under the tree. I don't remember sleeping a wink all night, but awoke my sibligs at 4am. I announced I heard Santa last night much to the giggles of my siblings and queried look on my Mother's face. Years later I learned it was two co-workers of my Dad at AT&T Engineering, who brought an assembled new bicycle for my Christmas gift. I cherish that memory to this day!
