The work conference is a sore point anyway. I hate it. It is a total waste of time, but I will have a new administrative cheif who might become permanent so I do not want to start off on the wrong foot. My motarbetare (swedish for one who works against you) is the conference coordinator and has just as much work that week as I do. I tried to tell the prefect that that is an impossible time, but if she won't stand up to him also, then my voice is the only one of dissent. I should have known better than to book a trip that close to the start of the term, but the idea of spending Christmas in August at the Ice Hotel was too good to resist. I did check with SAS since we were going mostly on points and we do get the points back if I cancel. Just the icing on a stressful day.

The garden is in full swing. Fresh veggies every night and canning and freezing for later. Of course some of my homegrown veggies will find their way to our Thanksgiving and Christmas tables.

spending Christmas in August with my coworkers does not sound Christmas fun at all.....if it were not for the new boss coming in I could strongly consider being "sick"......
