[Christmas Crazy]

My Swedish coworker wanted to know why cardinals are a Christmas motif.
I said because they are red and cardinals are out even in the winter time in the US. I have not had a chance to research it yet. I only know my Grandmother loved cardinals and every time I wear one I remember her. I have two Christmas shirts with cardinals on them.

Any of my Christmas friends traveling yet? Take care!

My grandmother also liked cardinals (The Indiana State Bird). She had them out year round and on the tree at Christmas. Fond memories. And we are staying home for Christmas. It will be just Michelle, Austin, and I. A relaxing time.

We are staying home too. It will be near 80F on Christmas Day and I will be pining for Indiana snowy Christmas days!! The red cardinal is a symbol of hope to me -- and yes the Indiana state bird!

Merry last Friday before Christmas! Today I am officially on vacation. We are off on a lunch cruise to a christmas dinner at a castle. Tomorrow we are having the "christmas plate" at the local Lebanese restaurant (mostly their specialities) but we look forward to it. I told Perky we will have to eat simply at home to make up for all the rich foods. Hope all my Christmas friends have a great weekend!
