Well, Merry Christmas in May to us? Us, as in Michelle and myself. In our back yard we have (now had) a 27 foot round above ground pool. It would have been 17 years old this spring. But time, rust, and a few too many tropical storm remnants blowing thru our area has caused it to collapse. So this past weekend we tore it down and are now left with just a deck with a crescent cutout in it. We really don't want to spend the money to have another pool put in ($4-5k) so we opted for a $277 16 foot round pool from Walmart. That will get set up tonight. Now we just have to figure out what to do with the deck. The new pool is much smaller and not as tall as the previous pool to be able butt it up against the deck. So, do I tear it down or replace a few rotted boards and add more railing.

Christmas Crazy: a great work around a more expensive replacement pool! As for the deck?? I am not certain but know you will make the right decision.

We got the Christmas in May pool all set up last night and started filling it. Left two hoses running over night and it was about 70% full when I got up this morning around 4:30. So it should be full by this afternoon. Then we just have to wait for it warm up a bit. And with our temps that shouldn't take long.
