Decorating for the Fall

Postby XmasDVD » Wed Sep 17, 2008 11:11 pm

Are you going to decorate for the fall holidays? (fall in the US anyhow!)

We hang fake leaf strings all through our apartment and put out fake pumpkins - all to make it feel fall-like. We add scary stuff in October for Halloween, then we go back to fall leaves for Thanksgiving in November - then we take it all down and decorate for Christmas!

Here in the UK I do put a few things out for autumn, mainly in my kitchen and dining room. I have a leaf table runner which I use on my dining room table, and some leaf shaped T light holders with a matching tart warmer - these go on the hearth. I have a leaf shaped plate which is filled with small fake pumpkins, and a vase which is filled with slik leaves.

In my kitchen I have a Yankee Autumn jar candle with a stay on topper which is decorated with pumpkins and gourds, this is on the window sill. I also have a wonderful tart warmer in the shape of a pumpkin.

Maybe next year I will expand this into the living room but at the moment it is in dire need or re-decoration so I'm not too bothered with it.

..I know what you mean! I grew up in the North and moved away when I was 9 - so I only remember the fun stuff - raking the leaves and jumping in the piles...
